Old receiver (20 years old) finally died. Plays music through her I-phone via the built in Bluetooth connection. works perfectly. Even turns it all on and adjust the volume by her phone.

I've learned to live with it and otherwise, it serves me well.

We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your Sony STR-DH190 while using STBY feature .
To resolve this, please try the following steps:
Distance Management: Try to keep a reasonable distance between your laptop and the receiver if possible, to avoid unintended Bluetooth interaction.
Turn Off BT Power in AMP Menu: Make sure the BT power is turned off in the AMP menu when not in use. This will prevent the receiver from automatically switching to Bluetooth mode.
Reset the Receiver will help if there is a glitch in the software:
Press (power) to turn off the receiver then press and hold (power) for 5 seconds

For the price, it does what it should

I wasn't looking for anything fancy and didn't want to break the bank, but I did want 2 different zones. This receiver does its job -- nothing more and nothing less. I have a chromecast audio hooked up to it currently and that combination works really well. The remote is pretty much useless -- you have to be pretty much right in front of the unit and in a straight line to it -- I tried it through an open window and was only maybe 20' away, but at an angle and it didn't work. Otherwise, for my needs, its good enough. I'm adding garage speakers for my 2nd zone so that will be nice too.

Nice Stereo (two channel) receiver

It’s not a top end system with bells and whistles, but it has a nice sound quality playing at lower volumes (that’s what we use in those two rooms).

Also the channel preset for the fm function is a little difficult to figure out . Like the fact that you can use a & b speakers at the same time . Bluetooth is also a plus , but not as much wattage as fm .

My older unused CD player nicely combined with the Sony 2.0 and works great with the good quality speakers from the original combo.

It doesn’t blow you away like if you added an amp to every room but if you want something that works and does it’s job for the price you won’t get better than this.
