Sony receiver

It will not power a subwoofer although it has two outputs for it. the specs were not clear on What power it could output to it. My speakers were from another set on which the receiver had built in amp for subwoofer, and never checked for this one.

The only downfall for me was that while it has 2 subwoofer outputs in the back to add subs, it does not have additional power sockets to plug in the add ons. Had this option on my old receiver and my sub shut off when the receiver was turned off.

Great item, but no phono

Yes, that's an old technology, but that means it's also very cheap to include. And there are still people (and lots of new people) who want to use their turntables.

Posted .Hi SeanL, We're glad to hear you are enjoying the overall sound quality of the receiver. Your feedback regarding the lack of a PHONO input is very much appreciated. Unfortunately, since the receiver doesn't have a PHONO input, if you want to connect a turntable, it must have a built-in amplifier or an in-line amplifier must be used to connect the turntable to another input on the stereo system. The Sony STR-DH190 receiver has a dedicated PHONO input for connecting a turntable directly to the receiver. Thanks for choosing Sony. -Jess

It was perfect! but i think there was an inconsistency between this receiver and my universal remote. It would automatically change sources in the middle of watching something or some how some way it would lose audio on it's own. very weird experience and i hope it was a one off. when it did function it was amazing. picture and sound.
