Great Receiver without breaking the Bank

I especially liked the calibration feature so I could set my speaker levels perfectly depending on my listening position.

One problem noted below.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only problem so far: When I use our DIRECTV remote to turn on the TV, the DIRECTV box and the AV receiver, the receiver shows SAT/CATV for a few seconds then changes to TV and the sound is lost. I have to manually change it back to SAT/CATV.

Good 5 channel amp with 4K pass through.

This amp did the trick. I wanted a shorter in height amp and one that supported the 5 speakers I already had in place. I feel I lucked out with this purchase.

One frustration...menu on receiver....tricky to find menu ..to hear audio via TV & AMP simultaneously...."On a carousel..."..outside of that...got a great deal on it!!

Great Starter Unit

I was waiting for Black Friday to replace. The Onkyo WAS a higher end unit, so the comparison isn't as fair. Although I did purchase it on Black Friday in 2015 (so it's 7 years older). The other unit was so far advanced compared to this new unit, that I ended up getting the Onkyo fixed and returned this. I suppose when I'm ready to replace again, I'll have to bite the bullet and spend closer to $1K to get an equivalent to what I have.

Good for it's size

Doesn't sound as good as my secondhand Pioneer SC-81 but for the price I didn't expect it to.
