Great Feature Rich Reciever

This didn't disappoint. Very good sound and easy to use.

Thank you for the review. We do apologize on what happen with your speakers. We recommend using speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge. No Complements. Dead HDMI Out.

Main purpose of this purchase was to improve movie watching but also be able to watch TV in pass-through mode (I.e. TV speaker only). This seemed like a good concept-entry level receiver with HDMI switching/pass through, and it did sound good In a small room paired with a center, R, and L when it worked. Best Buy wouldn’t exchange due to timing but Geek Squad took it in and is sending to Sony for warranty service. Not a good value with all the wasted time. TL/DR: HDMI Out dead. BB sent back to Sony for repair.

They didn’t have the one we wanted so this is what we grabbed. It’s got everything we needed and works so far.

That would matter to me if I intended to run the device at a low volume, as an apartment-dweller might wish to do. It syncs well with my tablet for playing Pandora. There is no pre-amp connection as certain turntables would require. It gets better FM reception than my previous receiver. There is no AM tuner. Look at the types of connections on the back and compare to your needs before buying this.

To connect a turntable, it must have a built-in amplifier or an in-line amplifier must be used to connect the turntable to another input on the receiver. NOTE: Sony does not produce an in-line amplifier.
