I didn't even have it but a couple of wks. Very disappointed. Very upset that the Geek Squad told me over the phone to return it back to the same store at Best buy and exchange it. No, they didn't exchange it and now I'm w/o a Receiver, sucks.

Shortcoming in Best Buy Open Box sales

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The rating is for Best Buy Open Box sales and related policy and not for the Sony unit, which I could never try because I was sent a faulty unit. A few weeks ago this particular unit was on sale for ~$250 (both at Amazon and Best Buy). The open box (excellent condition) was offered at ~$200 at Best Buy. I chose to buy Open Box Excellent, thinking about a small saving while still getting a good unit. I was wrong. I was sent a faulty unit that would auto shutoff in less than 5 sec. When I took it to a local Best Buy for an exchange, I was told that I could only get a refund because they do not exchange Open Box product. By then the price of the unit had increased to $350 (new) or $319 (Open Box excellent). I told them about missing the opportunity to get the unit at a discounted price, if not exchanged. They said we understand and apologize for this situation but there is nothing we can do about it and I was referred to the Customer Service online. I tried to explain this to the customer service, but besides an apology they did not have a solution to rectify their mistake. So, I am at loss of net $150 because someone at Best Buy did not inspect the open box unit. Also, because the Best Buy return/exchange policy for open box products does not account for their own error. Be ware!
