After a week it kept shutting itself off in protect mode. I returned it and did not want to take another chance getting the same receiver. I usually buy everything Sony, but I ordered a Yamaha receiver to replace it.

Poor sound

This happened periodically and would just start working correct randomly. Gets very hot once sound level is above 70. Returned and got a Denon.

We regret to hear that the unit was returned because it didn't perform as expected. This isn't normally the case with the STRDH590. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Resetting the receiver might have resolved those issues. We hope you consider Sony in your future purchase.
