    Extremely delicate. Broke twice for no reason in less than 1 year. do not buy it.

    After one year one of hdmi port was broke . Ok, I have more 5, but I payed for those ports

If switching devices didn't resolve the issue, please perfomr a factory reset to the unit. To factory reset the unit, Press (power) to turn off the receiver.     My Pioneer receiver I got around 1998 finally died (well the optical audio input stopped working, otherwise, she is still chugging along). I have always had a hodge podge system, mainly two custom DSG speakers made in Ann Arbor with built in woofer/mid/tweeter. These things worked and sounded great and I never 'needed' more. I have tried other modern receivers but not wanting to wire in all the additional speakers when I am just looking for amplification and clarity I always shrugged it off. I took this opportunity to get exactly what I wanted and give true 5.2 a try and I wish I would have done it a decade earlier. I never installed a solid center speaker nor did I ever have a full 5.1 or 5.2 system hooked up. Finally I took the time to hook up a full set of speakers I have aquired over the years, polk bookshelf, in back, polk towers in front, polk powered sub as well as a polk center. All polk but all bought at different times (each set has a different logo style). I took the time and got new speaker cable and wired everything in as well as I can. Clean lines, routed the cables where they were functional but looked good, etc. I got the receiver (slightly smaller than my old Pioneer!!! which is a big plus) hooked up. I don't plan on running HDMI pass through but I did plug the HDMI out to the TV for the initial set-up. I put the calibration microphone in the best seat in the house and went through the initial configuration. 5 remote clicks (that were just clicking yes/ready/ok) and some funky sounds later and the system was done. I re-watched a movie I had just watched the other night on it and what an experience. My basement now sounds like a movie theatre. Afterwards I put on Fear Inoculum from Tool and let that play through and had an out of body experience. This system does EXACTLY what it is supposed to. Supports 5.2 just fine, is super easy to set-up, and sounds great. I am super happy I didn't go with more or less. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

    The Sub out is no longer working on the amp. It didn't even last a year.

    This unit supports 5.2 surround sound, but I just wanted a fairly powerful stereo amplifier. I wanted an HDMI ARC connection to watch tv using just one remote. This unit doesn't have all the latest frills like WiFi but it gives very good sound with the ARC function. At $350 it's a great value... I love it! Unlike some other amps I looked at, it does have tone controls, but no knobs- you have to open a settings menu. Which is fine if you don't monkey with the tone frequently

    My Sony receiver was delivered today and it is an amazing replacement for our older Samsung. This receiver is smaller and fits better on our TV stand. What's nice is that this is 4K and HDR ready, so when we get a 4K TV, this is one last thing we'll need to upgrade. The receiver has 4 HDMI ports, enough hook ups for 5 channel surround sound, subwoofer inputs, along with your standard audio ports. There is also a digital optical cable for audio as well. It also comes with a setup microphone and setting up your speakers is easy. I like the look of the receiver as well. It has a nice clean design, which two knobs in the front that allow you to change inputs and one for volume. There are also other buttons that allow you to turn on BlueTooth and adjust tunings. One thing that this receiver has that our old one doesn't, is FM radio. This comes with an FM antenna that hooks up in the back. The remote for the receiver is small, but not too small. It has easy to read buttons and switching between inputs and other settings is a joy. One thing I love, is that when you setup the receiver, it displays a setup menu on my TV, which is awesome. I love the fact that when you turn up the volume that it displays on the TV. Another awesome feature is BlueTooth. When I am downstairs in the basement, I can play music from my phone and play it on the surround sound. BlueTooth devices connected quickly and didn't take long at all. My iPhone 6s Plus paired within seconds. Overall, I am extremely happy with this receiver. It's an awesome upgrade for us and I can't wait to get a 4K TV and hook this up to it.

    A good receiver, but limited in it's programming by the user, it's true 5.1 but it doesn't allow individual speaker tuning/volume, it's all basically presets. The sound is good overall so it will do. It's lightweight and the FM receiver works well if a simple wire antenna is used. I got an appropriate antenna for under $5 on the jungle site. The ARC HDMI TV Input is cool attached to my ROKU TV as it joins the two units so they share functions such as on/off, worth 4 stars but no more.
