Sound system sounds good with more than enough power. If this product lasts a long time without problems I would increase the rating to a 5 star

Sony STRDH590 5.2 4K A/V receiver

In addition to 4 HDMI inputs, the ARC HDMI is very convenient to get the audio output of TV. The only thing I would like to have in this low priced A/V receiver but it does not have is USB input.

Decent system; sound issues?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This receiver would have gotten a full 5 stars, except that for whatever reason, it DOES NOT give off the same or better sound than my old non-4k receiver did. Specifically the center speaker. Worked just fine with the old receiver but ...ok well it does work, but the sound is soooo trebley! I know the center speaker is where all your spoken dialogue usually comes through for the most part, but there is a noticable difference now. It sounds like the audio is coming out of an older smart phone. I've messed around with both the settings and the connection, nothing seems "off." And it would cost $130 to have geek squad come out and look because they consider it an installation. But yeah aside from that it's a great receiver. It has an audio option, Front Surround, simulates surround sound using only the front left and right speakers (and sub). That's what i use due to the center speaker issue.

It was as simple as hooking up all connections and using the included microphone to calibrate the output levels for each speaker. Super simple to use and it sounds so much better than the Pioneer receiver I just threw away. I know it's 2018 but it's great for the size room we have.

Auto setup gets your settings close to where they need to be. Easily powers my Klipsch towers, center, and bookshelf surrounds. The only annoying quirk I’ve found is that on every power up, the input is set to TV. I don’t have anything in that input. Minor inconvenience, but annoying nonetheless. But like I said, for the price I won’t complain too much.

Great product only one flaw

It replaced a 1995 Yamaha high end AVR to go with our new SONY 65” 4K Android TV. The only flaw is SONYs initially couldn’t use the headphones for my wife and surround for me simultaneously but I did a ‘workaround’ and fooled the receiver so BOTH work at same time And your GEEK SQUAD was great in tweaking it to the new tv

I wound up connecting these to a set of polk audio speakers and subs and the quality of sound is amazing!

The sound i incredible. Very versatile. Can hook direct to your TV using ARC mode on your smart TV. Easy setup. If you are using a 5.1 surround sound setup, Buy banana plugs for the front speakers. Lots of cool features.

Great product for the money.

Easy to setup if you follow the instructions. Not extremely user friendly if new to surround sound systems. I had to ask for assistance, from the Geek Squad, but I am slightly tech challenged. Their service was excellent and my surround sound system sounds just like being in the theater.

Sound qualitiy is very nice and it easy to use. I have my TV connected to Sony via Optical cable, My IPTV receiver and PS4 via HD cables.. I am using Bluetooth to connect my phone to Sony and listen to music.. I bought another one to my dad and he is happy with it.

Good receiver and amp!

The menu that shows up on the tv so you can modify the settings is a little dated looking. But once you play with it and get your settings in check you’re good. I haven’t any problems so far with this receiver. The multi speaker channel option outputs great sound to all of my 5 speakers and sub.

Rated output power and its low noise rating seem to be accurate when pushing out content of various sources at very high levels. My only complaint is in regard to accessing and understanding the on-system menu and its hidden sub-levels and categories. I really needed to spend a lot of time figuring out where basic adjustments and system features resided! But other than this issue, no complaints and a strong buy recommendation for a great 4K HD 5.2 Ch system such as this Sony STRDH590 unit!
