My only reservation, and reason why I do not give five stars, is because the first one I got malfunctioned within four hours of my first using it, so I had to return to the store to replace it, but my replacement is working wonderfully: I am listening to music right now as I type this.

If your OK wih the one thing....then DANG!

OK, so there is this one thing. Every time you turn on your receiver/TV (using ARC), you will get a splash screen for setup and it CANNOT be dismissed or told to NEVER COME ON. I suspect this is why I was able to buy my receiver for only $200 (open box)! If you are a home theater enthusiast, on a budget and you don't mind clicking two more buttons, then this is a GREAT buy. OH YEAH! - mine did not come with a remote, which almost swayed me, until I fond it on EBAY for $13 and bought it before I even left Best Buy with the receiver.

Simple small scale receiver

Connections were not an issue for the items I would be using. The hurdles I have experienced sometimes are with turning on and off the receiver and sometimes the sources and surround parameters. Hasnt been a major issue but sometimes becomes a bit of a hassle. I have been using the Comcast remote because that is my provider. That may be a part of the problem. Overall its a good unit with plenty of power for the space.

Decent receiver, a little cryptic

Some stuff needs to be set up from the front panel rather than thru on-screen menus. Makes for a nice surround sound system on a budget. Plenty of power.

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.we bought this for our new house, which is all prewired with surround sound speakers in the ceiling and cords running through a box in the closet thru the wall to where the plug and cat-5 wires are. This worked awesome to allow us to utilize the speakers which make it incredible to watch tv and movies. The DVD player is hooked up thru this also, it's like being in the movie theater. The only thing that's frustrating and confusing to me is the time it takes for the components to connect to the video of the TV and we have to keep the closet door open to work the volume control on the receiver. Otherwise works great and for the price serves the perfect purpose.
