I have Bose Acoustimas stereo speakers that sort of work on this device but not as well as they did on my old pre-HDMI tuner. I needed HDMI ports, as most of us do, so will have to upgrade the speakers someday, sigh.

This receiver gives me everything I need without a multitude of things I don't need. Great Receiver

But this new model is awesome. Sony has improved the setup menu (its still a little cryptic) and I was able to get great sound in minutes!

When we got disconnected they called me back immediately. The overall experience was great! The sound coming from the receiver sounds like I am at the movie theater, yet I am home! Great, great, great!!!

Easy set up

Works well with existing speaker layout. Haven't used it as a pass through for complete home theater set-up, only surround sound, CD, and radio tuner. Bluetooth function is a convenient addition. Once paired, I can activate and stream from my phone without having to find remote and select input option.

Without replacing the speakers, my sound has completely changed. The calibration microphone is easy and incredibly effective. Simply hold it where you plan to listen and the receiver will optimize your settings. It even wakes the tv when the input device (cable box, Apple TV) is turned on. Great find!!

One of the best 5.2 relievers out

I love the Bluetooth function since most of my music the music streaming services are on my phone. Used this receiver for my Bose Acoustimass 10 system and it does very well in my home theater. It even has the ability to be turned on by the Bluetooth function, something I never knew existed. Kinda lime a power over ethernet service.

Almost Perfect

Decided to try and stay with the same brand for compatibility. Only short fall is this receiver does no have the capability to add a couple additional speakers. I like to pipe music into my basement when I am working at in my basement shop. Everything else is working very well.

I didn't want anything too elaborate as the only thing we'll use it for is sound for our family room TV. I initially had some minor problems getting it set up, it wanted to turn the TV back on after I'd turn it off. I then carefully re-read the instructions provided and went online for additional information. Everything now works as I desired. I wish that the additional information was provided with the instruction manual, but that's how most things are done nowadays.

Super Sound and Smooth Operation

Great sound after going through the programming progress for the 5.1 system. Great replacement after my old pioneer receiver stopped working. I would definitely buy it again.

Not bad for the price

Intuitive setup, functions perfectly, automatically detects my Sony TV and switches to external speakers. Only issue, the remote does not control an older Sony BluRay player.
