Goes into mute mode on turnon.

Thanks for reaching out to us. While we're glad that you like most of the features, we're sorry you've been running into difficulty. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. If no sound is output from the receiver, perform the following operations:
- - Check the type and connection of the HDMI cable, optical digital cable, or audio cable that is connected to the receiver and the TV
- Turn on the receiver, and then select the input to which the playback device is connected.
- Press AMP MENU, then set “” - “CTRL.HDMI” to “CTRL ON,” and then set “” - “STBY.THRU” to “AUTO” or “ON” on the display panel.

Can’t hide menu
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My old Yamaha receiver died after 19 years so I purchased this Sony while the unit performs fine there are two menus that pop up on the screen when you turn the system on which you have to use the Sony remote to close. I use a harmony remote an it would not allow me to program it to close them. You can disable the menu but by doing so the HDMI looses the ability to use the pass thru connections, so if you want to use say the smart hub on a Samsung TV to watch Netflix etc. it doesn’t switch from Cable to TV and you have no sound from the TV all you hear is what is on cable tv. For this reason I give it two stars and have returned it.

Thank you for the feedback and we understand your concern. It is unfortunate that the unit had to be returned. As part of HDMI CEC function, the home screen of the AV receiver cannot be disable.

Sony 725 5.2 channel receiver
