Easy setup

You just attach speakers and components and your ready to go. I was very satisfied with purchase. For a low end av receiver it’s very good.

Great budget receiver

I just wanted a inexpensive system that sounded decent. Paired with Sony’s shockingly good bookshelf speakers I’m very impressed with my setup. The Sony’s SSCS5 speakers are ridiculously good at their price. Heck they sound better than some $500 dollar speakers. They sound that good. I’ve been an audiophile for over 25 years.

I purchased it because my fancy new 4KTV has really poor sound, and I had a soundbar that I wasn't happy with. The receiver works great and is easy to set up. It comes with a mini microphone you plug into it, and has an auto calibration mode where it uses that microphone to determine the best settings for your room and speaker setup. I think the auto calibration does a great job. I performed it first, then messed around with some of the other settings, which was a mistake. I ran the calibration again and haven't changed a thing.

It is very basic set up and forget it at once. Works good with my all mirage speakers and 2 subwoofers. No terrible or bass setting. What a surprised.

It (irritates me in a urine specific way) that this review requires a minimum number of 50 characters. Why can't I just say "It is fine."? Why do I need to write an essay for the sole purpose of apparently assuaging the feelings of best buy? This piece of equipment exactly solved the the issue I needed solved. There- Best Buy- does that make you feel better? Does that fluff the psychological pillow you needed fluffed? Because asking for my review and assigning me a minimum length book report are two very different things. Just saying. A+ for the equipment D- for the thirsty needs of the best but review process

I understand that it’s nowhere near top of the line, but for my simple purposes — sending audio from my TV (via ARC) through to 5.1 speakers — it is absolutely perfect. The Open Box purchases are great — they’re often machines someone brought home then returned without even opening.
