Confirmed- Works with Xbox Series X AND 4K HDR10!!

This was an upgrade from my Denon AVR E400. With my new Xbox Series X, I needed HDMI ports that would pass-through 4K and support HDR10. This did it! And for only $330. I thought for sure I would need another $600 unit. Easy setup too. To get HDR10 to work with the xbox, I had to go to AMP menu and enable "enhanced" mode. Then I needed to change video setting in xbox menu to push a higher bit signal. Working PERFECTLY!

Liking the ease of connecting via Bluetooth and the convenience of the remote control. Of interest is the lack of a balance control to adjust the relative volume of the two speakers I use. What is provided is an automatic system that depends on a (provided) microphone that you place at the preferred listening location. Works great, but sometimes I want to listen from a workstation near one of the speakers and alter the balance. I could bring out the microphone and perform a re-balance, but that's inconvenient for the temporary purpose. Fortunately, the range of the remote is adequate to take it across the room with me to the workstation.

Replacement receiver for my old Kenwood

Nice build quality

The sound they produce is clear and they will play loud. I have them paired with Sony bookshelf speakers and a Sony center speaker. I went with this setup in order to have the center dialog for I watch most movies through my computers on a 4k monitor. Of note, I recently added a stand alone sound card (EVGA NuPro)to one of the computers and the clarity/volume available are significantly better compared to the built in computer audio going from the optical out of the sound card into the receiver.

Required a new receiver to utilize HDMI connections to my new TV. It put everything together. My existing system was/is 5.2-Ch which works fine in my situation. One complaint. I wish all the speaker connections were of the bayonet type. I had to remove the Monster connectors for some of the speaker functions and try to stuff the larger Monster wire into the "pinch" type connections for those speakers. It worked but is much nicer with the higher-end bayonet connectors.

The old one still works, but it's having issues decoding today's audio standards. I wanted to stick with the same Sony brand, as the last one did its job handsomely, until it became outdated. So, when I saw this early Black Friday deal, I snagged one without hesitation! Got it all set-up, and it works and sounds GREAT! Just as expected! For the current price, I would DEFINITELY recommend this audio receiver to anyone in need of a new(and affordable) piece of audio equipment for their home theater. GRAB ONE!
