Great step forward

My older Sony receiver was still going strong. This unit is better in every way. If you have no need for 7.1 or beyond, this is all you will ever need. I will definitely purchase Sony again in the future.

I have surround sound speakers so I thought I would update and combine everything with this. With a little bit of extra time and effort, I am now able to watch movies, listen to all of my music and I'm happy. Sound is good. Still working through all of the settings.

My older receiver finally decided to stop working when the display went black (after 10 years of daily use) So I found this 5.2 channel receiver online and decided to go pick it up at the costa mesa location. After getting back to my house it took less than 5 minutes to unpack, and literally ten minutes later my surround sound was working. I did use the calibration device which was very easy to use, thanks to the remote. All in all I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a reasonably priced and high quality receiver.

Pleased overall. The system automatically turns on and off with my TV and the volume adjust automatically with the TV volume the way I have it set up. The system also has additional HDMI inputs so that you can hook gaming system or DVD player to the receiver rather than your TV which is great since some TVs only have two HDMI inputs.

Very Easy to use and sounds great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My first receiver I purchased years ago was a Yamaha, which sounded great, but to operate the remote...OMG very complicated, so I sold it, and got a Sony much easier, but still a little complicated imho, but sounded just as good. Fast fwd 8 years, and now an upgrade. This one was on sale and I now have 4K everything with my Klipcsh setup only supporting 5.2 (not enough for 7.2) I chose this one, plus the price $179. Sound wonderful, but the kicker is it has a GUI (graphical interface) that pops up on your TV that makes adjusting things so much easier. Love that feature. Recommend this!
