Quality Receiver, Great Price

I have had this Sony receiver Since April and it met my expectations so far. My family room isn't huge, but this unit fills the space with sound from my legacy Onkyo speakers and sub. I am only using a center speaker and two fronts along with the sub and the receiver manages to still broadcast rich surround sound, without, rear speakers. I'm very satisfied with this unit.

Pros: easy setup, ARC works well, looks nice and decent sound. Cons: Does NOT pass through 120Hz for 4K gaming, just 60hz. You have to connect game consul directly to TV. Sound can seem tinny at times.

A Best Buy employee suggested this one for its quality, price, and it not being overkill for what I needed. The installation was easy. I followed the instructions, and when I was done I no longer needed the remote that came with it. Im using the tv remote to control the system and the sound quality has been fantastic.

The 4k Upscale really enhanced the video quality. I had purchased a previous version of this almost 10 years ago and still works but needed something with newer technology. The Bluetooth and 4k upscaler are amazing.

The automatic sound calibration is quick and easy and removes the need for additional fine tuning (although you can still fine tune if you want). Good overall system for a basement movie theater.

Gets hot needs fan

It helps them to sound even better than when I was just running them with the receiver. The extra wattage turns out to be necessary for Bowers and Wilkins603 towers. I think I’m getting the quality of sound that they were designed to deliver. Before star rating is because of the heating problem.
