With my new receiver, it now sounds like the movie theater! I love it. I watch movies from my lift/recliner chair, and now I don't have to get up to adjust the volume. That is a huge deal for me. Awesome for playing CDs/DVDs and for using to transmit TV sound to exterior speakers. Even just using two speakers (not surround sound), the fidelity is excellent. Also come with an auto calibration mode and mic so it sets up the speaker levels for you.

I liked this.

I already knew my speaker distances, but used the auto anyway just to see. All auto measurements were accurate within a half inch with my measurements. Overall, I am happy with this purchase, I would say it was worth buying.

Best basic receiver you can buy.

It runs seamlessly with other Sony devices. Many operations are performed automatically whether or not you want them to. And some options are not available (if you plug in a headphone power to the speakers is turned off, no choice).

Excellent entry level Home Theater Receiver

Had this one hooked up in place of the other unit within 10 minutes. Went through the easy setup process and was back in business. Whole setup was 20 minutes. Sound quality is good and the subwoofer settings worked great. Very pleased.

Needs Tone Control

I have two Pioneer HPM-100 speakers with 12" woofers and there is barely any bass.

If you want it to transmit to Bluetooth headphones or want more options for an antenna connection you will have to look to another model. Otherwise, Great receiver!
