Works as advertised. Easy to set up. Subtracted one star because there is a minor feature I can't get to work (automatic switching to exterior speakers in TV mode). Probably operator error on my part or incompatibility with my TV. Overall very nice unit. Good sound.

Great receiver! Upgraded from my 1990 Kenwood receiver and what a HUGE improvement! Love the Bluetooth feature! I can walk outside and change from Pandora to XM on my phone and have it play in my outdoor speakers without leaving my lawn chair!

Wish I could give 5 stars, but that is still to be determained. I love how simple this receiver is… super simple…. But the first time I used it for a “music” night it shut off all by itself. When I approached it I felt heat… and when I touched it, it was hot enough to burn. Not sure if this is normal or not… will be calling about the issue. My have been used for 3-5 hours total. If the heat is normal, I do not expect this receiver to last long. But I have not called them yet to find out.

Price was right. Easy set up once you read directions. Lots of functions to play with. And more than enough connections on back of receiver for you to use. And it more than enough handles the power for the surround sound speakers I purchased.

Excellent features and the receiver synced with TV when I connected them. Good sound! This receiver comes with a microphone which you use to set the best sound for your position in the room.

This is an awesome upgrade to the previous reciever we had. The sound is clear and does what it should and the bluetooth connectivity is simple. Would definitely buy again. My brother actually picked up the same reciever because he liked ours so much.

Nothing wrong with this one, except a few days later another Sony went on sale that was a net $20 more but a 7.2 system with more power. This unit is great if you are just going to have front surround, where it shines. I did not fully appreciate the 5.1 from it, and I want both to be very good.

Good product, especially at the price point. Between the interior open space and our outdoor lanai, veranda and Tiki bar, I actually have 12 speakers configured. I was able to do all the hookups myself and we are enjoying the system.

Affordable, and smaller than the model it replaced (HD700). Setup was a breeze and took just minutes. Sounds great, easy bluetooth pairing and playback. OSD works great. I've no need for 7.1 sound at the moment, so it was a perfect fit for me.

I haven't had a new receiver in quite some time. So I saw this and decided to get it. Wow, The sound is beyond great. I had no idea that it could enhance my 4K TV's picture. I really enjoy the bluetooth mode. Overall a great product. Very pleased.

Great receiver for price easy installation ,easy setup instruction very good .Sound quality excellent very pleased with product. I upgraded from my fifteen year old receiver to this Sony one. Connected to my 75" Sony with a Bose surround sound system just amazing.

easy to assemble and to hook up. The microphone did not work but it could be due to an apartment installation. People said it was worm but it doesn't feel like it gets warm enough to damage any of the components inside. Overall I'm satisfied.

Out performs my 700 dollar yamaha by a long shot. Plug and play, easy set up

I'm not an audiophile and I'll probably never be, I'm just making a simple review. I had a Yamaha VX375 that the sub out quit working on so I was in the market for a new receiver. I'm using two old school Klipsch Eclipse II's and a powered sub for my living room to mainly listen to music. The nicest upgrade for me was the Bluetooth ability to hook up to my phone when i want to use spotify. The only thing that I've found so far is that the volume limit is pretty low - 70. Which thinking about it now, it's pretty loud with the Klipsch speakers. My Yamaha went higher. Other than that, I'm happy with my purchase. As far as pricing goes, its probably a little more affordable than some of the brands out there but for what I use it for, it's perfect.

I read a number of reviews prior to buying a replacement AV Amp. Many said this is the unit to get for the price - I have to agree. It turned out to work perfectly with my Polk audio home theater system. Even the subwoofer (which wasn’t working with the old amp) works beautifully! The sound balancing is great. I do agree with a previous reviewer about there being four slots for banana plugs and the remaining were spring closure. Banana plugs are a VERY good idea. Don’t sweat it if you don’t have them though as it will take the regular speaker wire just fine. There is only one optical outlet- so be aware of that. I use this for my 5.1 speaker system, PS3, and fire-stick streamed through TV USB. Fits my needs perfectly with great performance- I couldn’t be happier ! I recommend this for anyone looking. Great system!

I rated 4 stars instead of 5 for user experience. The build quality and functional nature of this unit is sound and typical Sony - I've used Sony audio and video products for years and the specs meet my needs. However, in a connected house that includes among other things a Google Nest hub, the "connectedness" of this Sony receiver means that, when watching video or listening over Bluetooth, prompting the google hub for any reason - even accidentally - will mute this receiver and you pretty much have to wait until the Google hub is done with whatever it is doing before you can turn the volume back up. Also, I had a dickens of a time getting this to play nicely with my Vizio tv but maybe that was just me. All in all, it's worth a look if you need a budget A/V receiver.

Works very well, nice sound. Many options which I am still exploring. Bought this to replace a decades old receiver and to complement a 4k smart TV. So far so good, a little quirky operationally between on-screen and on receiver menus but so far pleased with this unit, especially for the price, $179 on sale.
