I needed a budget friendly receiver to power my devices. I'm a Sony loyalist, because wanted quality and quality I got. The sound quality from all of my devices have been enhanced.

This Sony provides great sound. I found it easy to set up.

This receiver is exactly what I was looking for. It has all the features including supporting 4k and Bluetooth. It sells at a reasonable price point. I am very happy with this Sony receiver.

I bought this unit on sale to replace a dying Pioneer unit I've had for 10 years. Unfortunately I didn't nice this was a 5 channel unit and I really needed 7 channels. Just drawing your attention to this in case it matters for you too. My setup is a hodgepodge of old and new players and accessories, so I suffered another small hiccup because this unit ONLY has HDMI inputs. I needed several RCA inputs for my older hardware so I was forced to buy some adapters to get everything operational. The unit has good power, doesn't get overly hot in our entertainment cabinet, and setup/configuration via the unit's wizards was slick. Great unit for the price!

I bought this receiver so I would have a dedicated HDMI port for all of my devices. The improvement of sound and picture over my old receiver was a pleasant surprise. Very easy to set up and use.

Easy to set up and works great, sound is great and plenty of power to spare. You wont be disappointed.

I should start by saying that this is NOT meant for people who have difficult-to-drive speakers. If you have reasonably efficient speakers, however, this is for you. Sound is clean, set-up is simple, and it worked right out of the box. Now, for the most important thing in my opinion: It just WORKS. I plugged in a Chromecast for my streaming. I can cast to Spotify, and the receiver turns on, sets the input to the Chromecast, and starts playing. When I switch to the TV, the receiver automatically switches inputs (I have it set to optical input). There is no hassle, and my wife is able to operate as well.

This product is perfect for our home. The sound quality is fantastic as well as being very user friendly

This receiver is great. It pushes my 5 speakers and a sub. I like the functionality especially the 4K. The is a great buy.

Sounds great and super duper easy to setup. One thing to note is that the RCA audio inputs are assigned to the HDMI ports for some reason. Just something to be aware of if you're like me where you have many video and audio sources like a turntable, CD player, along with an Apple TV or other Set Top Box. Other than that, it's a great entry-level receiver for those on a budget!

I got the Sony - 725W 5.2-Ch. Hi-Res 4K Ultra HD A/V Home Theater Receiver - Black to run my Polk T series 5.0 setup and man what a great combo! Setup was pretty straight forward and learning to get the best sound out of this receiver was pretty easy with a little research. The sound quality is the best I've ever had ring through my ears in a home setup. It even supports Dolby Atmos that we run through our PC which takes the surround experience to a whole new level! We were going to get a powered sub, but the sound is good enough we don't feel we even need to. If you're looking for an entry level receiver, this is the one you should get!

Bought this to replace an aging Yamaha unit. It's pretty much plug and play! Since it's on standby and not truly "off" you can simply connect to the receiver from your Bluetooth to instantly wake it up! Volume is then controlled from your device, truly a hands free experience. I am using it as a 2.1 system for music so i can't speak to the surround sound (5.1) but i have to assume it sounds just as good as 2.1

I love this receiver! Great sound on my speakers (6-inch Somance pair), wattage to spare, multiple HDMI inputs + ARC for sending sound back from the TV, if desired (with an ARC-enabled TV). While I would love to see a Wi-Fi connection option, that would be an entirely different device - Bluetooth is adequate for a quick play from my phone and I plug it into my laptop or tablet for high def audio. I am looking forward to using the automatic tuning feature with the included microphone.

This Sony receiver is perfect for how I’m using it. I have several other Sony receivers but I wanted something a little smaller for my bedroom. I have front speakers, surround speakers, a center channel and a subwoofer attached. Everything sound great. I especially like the Bluetooth feature. I can listen to media on my iPhone. I would definitely recommend this receiver for anyone in a small space wanting a lot of sound.

It’s a really good receiver. I use klipsch speakers and it sounds amazing. I use Bluetooth to connect to my tv, pc, mobile and it works seamlessly.

Added for a simple receiver to get music to different places around our work shop. Has produced good sound and easy to use.

Excellent reciever. The set up was extremely easy and so much more accurate than with older more expensive models. It comes with a mic you set up in the optimal area of your room and gives a great speaker by speaker notice and perfect surround sound.

If you are looking between this and the comparable Denon, this is the one you want if you like it loud. If you want to listen to golf matches, get the Denon which has -slightly-, and I mean a fraction more clarity, but at a large reduction of the power per channel. Really a great start for My First Receiver, but I recommend spending a couple hundred more and getting the 7.2 with Atmos. If you are concerned with the reported Sony STR-DH590 auto-turn on disability, turn off CEC on your television. You are welcome.
