I was looking for a reasonably priced home theater receiver. I'm grateful the team at Best Buy helped me and I'm grateful that my decision landed me on this Sony option. It was easier to set up than I anticipated and more than meets my expectations.

got this as an open box and it still works as my PC and sim rig station. Years later it still works. BB, please give me my $400 gift card already. Onkyo and Denon still the best but i don't need that for what i'm using it for. The Onkyo is in the home theater. always buy Onkyo for massive project.

Like the easy setup but will not cut off sometime. Overall it's a complete unit love the sound. I am 69 year old and Sony always have great products. No matter the size so if you want great sound for great price check out Sony

I got a new 75" LED 4K Tv so I had to upgrade my amp. This Sony STRDH590 -725W -Ch and Hi res4K Ultra HDR AV Home Theatre Receiver is awesome!!! Watching a movie is super and I'm excited for the College Football Bowls!!!

Connected to our 65" LG TV - totally upgraded the audio quality of our system

I bought this to replace a 2-channel stereo receiver that died. A bit overkill for my setup, but if I ever do need surround sound or if my main system's receiver also goes belly-up, this will be a backup. The setup was super easy, the manual and controls clear and easy to understans (unlike my main system's to whose manual I still pull out on a regular basis after over 5 years!). And much to my surprise, it sounds better than the old unit. Probably all in my mind, but...

I just got a new projector and my old Sony (though not terribly old) wasn't able to switch 4K sources, so time to update. I didn't want to spend a lot and this model suited my needs and my budget. The price was right and the features did what I need for theater. It would have been a 5 star, but the sound I can get out of the receiver is less than stellar for music, so for theater it's fine, but it isn't a 'do-everything' receiver. I'm happy that it was in stock and I was wanting to get my home theater going quickly.

I purchased this system after reading the reviews online and researching other stores prices. The only thing I can find fault with that I didn't see(or didn't notice) on the reviews is that it requires a powered subwoofer. I spent several days stepping through the automated setup routine trying to figure it out using my passive subwoofer. Once I added a powered subwoofer I was 100% satisfied with my purchase. It ROCKS!! It literally shakes the house! LOL

The set up is easy with the supplied microphone and auto scan to check all speakers and adjust for distance and frequency response. I use the input switching on the TV instead of the one in the receiver. I use fiber optic from the TV to the receiver to transfer the audio. It works great. The receiver does not have a switched AC outlet to connect the sub woofer so I leave the sub woofer on all the time. The time from turning on the receiver to when sound comes out is 8 seconds. This is a little long.

I was super happy when this delivered and it delivered early the guy that helped was super awesome he helped me under stand the difference with watts and he got me a good deal. The product on the other hand is even better the quality of it is nice it does not feel cheap at all the knobs are smooth it is pretty good at cooling its self down super easy to set up the sound quality from this receiver is excellent.

Great A/V receiver that produces 4K quality sound for my 5.1 surround sound system. This replaced my existing Sony receiver which failed after 15+ years of service. This device was easy to setup and has worked great for me so far. This receiver connects to all devices in my home theater and also works great with my universal remote. If you want a great receiver without having to break the bank, I would recommend this device.

This unit has wireless bluetooth, 4K HDMI passthrough, and optical port. There are plenty of audio options to choose from for your listening pleasure. To get the most out of your home theater experience. Surround sound is a must. Recommended.

Replaced a 25 year old ONKYO. Super easy to install. Modern HDMI interfaces are wonderful. Un familiar with ARC HDMI, but very simple to interface to brand new LG 50" I got 3 werks earlier at Best Buy. Setup, programming, and tuning are very user-friendly. Used the manuel a little bit, since unfamiliar with new technology. Love the unit.

I wanted to replace an old receiver to connect to a modern smart TV and researched most models offered from Best Buy. This device was by far the best value and had all the features I needed. Now I can connect my cell phone via blue tooth, or watch any TV show and play them through my older Bose Acoustimass speakers system. Wow, my teenage boys never heard sound quality so good. Essentially, this Sony receiver gas life to my old system and well worth it.

This is a very good stereo receiver that is doing appropriate job for my 5 speaker system. I bought this to replace an old Onyko system that would no longer allow audio pass through. We were actually surprised that the sound from this system was better than the old system. It does come with a device to allow you to adjust the speaker volume from about 20 feet away.

Excellent receiver, powers my 110 wat main speakers, Center and surround speakers.

My husband and I purchased this because our old one was going out. It was a Sony as well and we had it for 25 plus years, so we decided to stick with the Sony brand. Glad we did. Great sound, easy to set up.

Bought this receiver to replace an old unit that had gone belly-up and was amazed at the power and sound that this unit produces! Had to turn down the sub because this one cranks out so much more power than the old one. It's Bluetooth enabled, so I can play tunes stored on my smartphone and that's way cool! Score one of these outstanding receivers - you'll love it!!
