This receiver is designed to receive a Bluetooth signal from a smartphone or tablet. It is not capable of transmitting one to a Bluetooth device such as wireless headphones or speakers. Thank you for sharing your honest review. We're glad that you like most of the features and ease of setup. We're sorry to learn if you find the overall audio quality not as great as you would liked. Double check the speaker wires. We recommend using speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge. These are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an AV receiver.
To try and resolve the issue if the surround effect cannot be obtained, be sure to select the optimal sound field for the content. For details on the sound fields, see “Selectable sound fields and their effects.”. [PLII Movie] and [PLII Music] do not work when “” - “PATTERN” is set to “2.0” or “2.1”.

It stopped working..

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this at the end of April, and it's now the beginning of July.. so I've only owned it for a little over a month.. In the middle of watching TV, the receiver turned off. I tried turning it back on, and the display would not show anything at all, but the light would turn green as if it was on. About 6 seconds later, the receiver would turn itself off, and the light would turn red. I tried unplugging all of my speakers and subwoofer and plugged it into a different power source, but it still does the same thing.. Before this happened, the receiver worked fine and the quality was overall very great.. I'm pretty upset that it gave out so quickly, and I really don't know why. I don't turn it up very loud at all, so I don't think it has anything to do with how I was using it/the speakers I had connected.

Unfortunately I also bought a new Turn Table and the receiver would not connect to the turn table. So I could not use it. Waste of time and money if you want to hook up a turn table to this receiver. You have to buy another type of receive to add to this one.

If a phono input is not available, the turntable must have a built-in amplifier or an in-line amplifier must be used to connect the turntable to another input on the stereo system.

We recommend not to install the appliance in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet. Although the receiver heats up during operation, this is not a malfunction. If you continuously use this receiver at a large volume, the cabinet temperature of the top, side and bottom rises considerably. Place the receiver in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat buildup and prolong the life of the receiver. Do not place the receiver near heat
sources, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, or mechanical shock. Do not place anything on top of the cabinet that might block the ventilation holes and cause malfunctions.

Very disappointed so far at this point with this unit I am trying to determine whether return it but I believe I'm past that return date would not buy if I was asked!

Sony STR-DH590 Annoying Home Screen At Every Start

I'm really sick of click yes I want to watch, yes use the SATV. I have to press the "Home" button in order for it to disappear. I'm searching for a fix so I don't have to dismiss the home screen on each startup. Sony doesn't seem to have an answer. I just want it to GO AWAY
