It was a great receiver, but...

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic receiver, if for no other reason than it replaced my aging Sony received that's probably close to 15+ years old. While I was able to get all the glorious 4K HDR that I wanted, I could not for the life of me get the ARC channel to work with my Series 4 Roku. I tried every setting that made sense between the TV and the receiver but could not get it to even see it as a CEC device on the network - though it did see a device connected to it, so I knew that it wasn't a cable issue in that regard. After a week of fumbling with settings, I returned it and am now just using a Yamaha soundbar...with ARC working crystal clear.

While we're glad to hear you appreciate the 4K HDR feature of the unit, we regret to know you're having an HDMI related issues with the receiver and it had to be returned. This is usually not the case for our AV receivers nor the experience we want you to have.

It look a little bit to figure things out with our home surround speakers at set up. Outside of that all has been great!

Works like it should

Sends around 145 watts per channel, which work prefect for my larger floor speakers. Works well with my sony TV although Sony intentionally makes their TV's incompatible with receivers.

Amazing Receiver

Audio and video is much better. If you have a 4K tv I highly recommend ensuring your surround sound is up to par.

Bad tech support

Things went good until I got to the part where you have to pick your speaker arrangement. All my speakers are in the ceiling and there is no choice for that. Then Only the front speakers would work. Called tech support and spent 2 hours on the phone with them to find out that the auto calibration won't work with all the speakers in the ceiling and they couldn't figure out why my rear speakers wouldn't work. I finally figured out it was a simple setting that needed to be changed. Tech suggested was a total waste of time.

Great 4k hdr receiver

Initially the speaker size are set to large, so changed to "small" for the subwoofer to work. Also to bypass 4k hdr change hdmi signal input to "enhanced".

Works well

What is with the 80’s motif that has taken over the industry? Give us some options! White, silver, something other than the big black box sitting in my living room.

For my new house I wanted something new with optical input, etc. I'm very happy with this new reciever.
