The specifications and reviews appeared to favor this receiver over a competitive Yamaha unit. Also, the Sony unit had a lower price tag (after Best Buy price matched Amazon). However, I would prefer to have my old Yamaha receiver back in working condition instead of this Sony unit. I am not as happy with Sony’s controls nor the surround sound effect.

Installation was simple and our existing built in speakers sound great! We probably should have done this when we bought our tv.

This receiver was smaller than the old one but had the same output as my old one. Bought it on Best Buy's website and it got to my house in 14 hours! I'm glad that there's still some of the old school things at the stores cause there's not a lot of demand for this these days.
