    We bought this receiver in December of 2023, worked great for almost 10 months until last week when it started going into PROTECT mode and shutting itself off. I unplugged the unit overnight, disconnected all speakers and restarted and after 15 minutes went back into PROTECT mode again. Unfortunately the other 1 star reviews mention this fatal flaw, and with Sony 90 day warranty no choice but to start shopping for another receiver. :-(

    I bought this to replace a fifty year old Pioneer. Had to add an eq to make it sound as good as the old one.
