Purchased as an open box. The receiver was practically brand new other than a scratch on the front. The setup was straight forward and I liked how Sony included a calibration microphone making the setup such a convenience. The home theater is back to life with this receiver.

My 30 year old receiver went to the happy audio heaven a few weeks ago. I went online and searched for a replacement. There were newer models, better models, and certainly more expensive models out there. However, I settled on the best model on a budget model… it is Great! And I am happy; no regrets about my purchase.

Wow! Sony home theater system is phenomenal! Crystal clear sound, deep bass, and immersive surround sound. Easy setup, sleek design. Worth every penny! 5 stars isn't enough!

All the basic features, great sound for our room. Took a star for very minor issues - for some reason the streaming device grabs the output at start, and getting the speakers set correctly for the different signal types was a little annoying (the menu could be clearer). Otherwise great for our needs - a couple of gaming consoles, a streaming device, and a couple of separate audio connections. When the device comes on, there is a click loud enough to scare the dog.

I love it! Easy set up! Initially had a problem with watching tv on antenna but chatting with support solved it. Have old wii, dvd, cd and smart tv attached. Sound is great for us with our 5 channel setup. Automatically turns on when tv comes on. Automatically switches sound to whatever we’re watching or listening to. No complaints! Would recommend.

Sony makes an excellent surround sound receiver, and this is a prime example!. Movies come to life with prudent placement of the speakers (I have Polk Audio, also purchased from Best Buy years ago). I use the Bluetooth to really get thhe most out of my Amazon Music playlists, the sound is amazing!

The set up information could have been more informative and clearer. I am using it for occasional audio for my tv; the receiver is connected to stereo speakers. It's 'surround sound for 2 speakers' setting works well and has a dimensional quality. The receiver's bluetooth for playing content from my tablet through the speakers works well too.

I had a very old Sony Receiver and when we got a new TV/Internet provider the equipment was also very new and updated and we were not able to use our receiver without going backwards on the TV receiver, so we ran to Best Buy and bought a new Sony receiver. We bought the one with bluetooth so I could play my music that I've downloaded on my phone. It is awesome. This one is much easier to operate also.

I’m not a real knowledgeable person around these things. But I will say that I needed a modern tech stereo to play music and go with some new speakers I purchased. The price and watts per channel blue tooth and brand all seemed right for the speakers and I’ve loved this stereo in the short time I’ve had it. Sound is good operation simple no complaints at all.

Was needing just something entry level into 4k and scored this as a open box item and saved a good chunk of money. Awesome reciever with no complaints. But just for a heads up youll need a active subwoofer (one with its own power source). Other than that everytbing else was a breeze!

this is the 2nd Sony I've owned my last one lasted 20 yrs and took a beating,This model is just the newer addition,all the bells and whistles,Bluetooth etc..,I was going to buy the yamaha of a similiar price point my sales geek said the Sony was a better receiver and 100$ off the sticker price ,also connects to my yamaha subwoofer which was a must for the Cave,Sounds Awesome!!Thanks Eric S

I have a 550 in my living room and loved that one. I got a great open box deal on the 590 and its works flawlessly, plenty of power and the built in bluetooth is awesome with Alexa. Highly recommend this and any other sony product, cant beat the quality and performance for the money!

Great let the music play !! No problems at all with this purchase! Easy set up ! Looks nice not too large and it does not take up a lot of space in my room ! Excellent buy , price very reasonable and happy with it !

We purchased this product to upgrade our surround sound system for our theater room. We need one with additional HDMI hookups so we can stream. The sound quality and performance is great. However, one thing I didn't think of... is my existing speakers. It connected to our smaller speakers, but we could not get sound off our subwoofer. It wasn't compatible. We now need to get a new subwoofer.

It was easy to setup and has several back connectors to connect devices. We have a projector, roku, and antenna converter connected to it. It also has radio reception. We have 4 speakers connected to it. Amazin surround sound.

Hooked this up to our 65" Bravia using sync. Super easy to control both from the same remote. Running two Sony floors speakers, a Sony center channel, and Sony subwoofer through it and it sounds night and day better than our old receiver. Plenty of inputs to meet your needs and built it Bluetooth is very handy. Those looking for AM radio ... Look elsewhere. Not a feature on this model.

Good output. Easy to set up. Controls are easily learned. Sound system sounds good with more than enough power. If this product lasts a long time without problems I would increase the rating to a 5 star
