I had a high end Onkyo receiver for years in our living room and could never get the thing to coordinate with my surround system. I decided to move the system to my bedroom after purchasing a 4K Ultra HD TV for the room. AGAIN this high end receiver just couldn't manage to coordinate correctly and required way too much adjustment and fussing. I lost my temper and smashed the thing to BITS!!!! I went to find a mid level receiver and found this one at BEST BUY for a very reasonable price. They shipped it next day for free. I like to buy from Best Buy rather than Amazon and the pricing and service are as good if not better than the Mega site. I use this receiver every day and it is awesome. A little overkill for my small room but, WOW, you wanna talk being immersed in sound that you can feel!!! This thing fits the bill. If I had one complaint, the receiver makes a clunk sound when turned on and off. When you want to see and hear and hold an item before buying it and actually talk to a knowledgeable PERSON that can guide you to a purchase that fits your needs, go to Best Buy or give them a call. Try that at Amazon. Heck, try to even reach a human being at Amazon!!! Try Best Buy first for all of your electronics.

Excellent quality and sound form this 5.2 channel surround sound receiver system. I highly recommend this purchase. Plus easy to connect with your cell phone to play your favorite songs via Bluetooth connection.

Hooked this up to our 65" Bravia using sync. Super easy to control both from the same remote. Running two Sony floors speakers, a Sony center channel, and Sony subwoofer through it and it sounds night and day better than our old receiver. Plenty of inputs to meet your needs and built it Bluetooth is very handy. Those looking for AM radio ... Look elsewhere. Not a feature on this model.

Delivers outstanding surround sound and was easy to set up

this is the cheapest home theater receiver with the sound and extras of a more expensive product... excellent.

This Sony surround system outperforms the Pioneer it replaced. It was as simple as hooking up all connections and using the included microphone to calibrate the output levels for each speaker. Super simple to use and it sounds so much better than the Pioneer receiver I just threw away. I know it's 2018 but it's great for the size room we have.

This receiver would have gotten a full 5 stars, except that for whatever reason, it DOES NOT give off the same or better sound than my old non-4k receiver did. Specifically the center speaker. Worked just fine with the old receiver but ...ok well it does work, but the sound is soooo trebley! I know the center speaker is where all your spoken dialogue usually comes through for the most part, but there is a noticable difference now. It sounds like the audio is coming out of an older smart phone. I've messed around with both the settings and the connection, nothing seems "off." And it would cost $130 to have geek squad come out and look because they consider it an installation. But yeah aside from that it's a great receiver. It has an audio option, Front Surround, simulates surround sound using only the front left and right speakers (and sub). That's what i use due to the center speaker issue.

For sub $200, I don’t expect much. The receiver works well. Auto setup gets your settings close to where they need to be. Easily powers my Klipsch towers, center, and bookshelf surrounds. The only annoying quirk I’ve found is that on every power up, the input is set to TV. I don’t have anything in that input. Minor inconvenience, but annoying nonetheless. But like I said, for the price I won’t complain too much.

So happy that I got this to replace my outdated one. It makes a huge difference with the quality of the sound. Easy setup for someone who knows what they’re doing, so I had someone do it for me. I would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Nice receiver for the price. If you hook it up to the tv via HDMI cable there is a settings menu to adjust your audio to your liking which is very cool.

I have had this receiver for a bit of time now and it works very well in terms of sound quality and very smooth transitions from one source to another. I wound up connecting these to a set of polk audio speakers and subs and the quality of sound is amazing!

This receiver is fantastic. Plenty of power for my Klipsch speakers. The sound i incredible. Very versatile. Can hook direct to your TV using ARC mode on your smart TV. Easy setup. If you are using a 5.1 surround sound setup, Buy banana plugs for the front speakers. Lots of cool features.

Great price features. It replaced a 1995 Yamaha high end AVR to go with our new SONY 65” 4K Android TV. The only flaw is SONYs initially couldn’t use the headphones for my wife and surround for me simultaneously but I did a ‘workaround’ and fooled the receiver so BOTH work at same time And your GEEK SQUAD was great in tweaking it to the new tv

Excellent product for the money. Easy to setup if you follow the instructions. Not extremely user friendly if new to surround sound systems. I had to ask for assistance, from the Geek Squad, but I am slightly tech challenged. Their service was excellent and my surround sound system sounds just like being in the theater.

Plug and play! I have been getting by with old equipment and pairing with TVs and smartphones was rough. This receiver solves all those problems and pushes some great sound!

Excellent addition to my home theater. It looks and sounds great, and gets plenty loud. HDMI input switching and component control is super convenient.

Great Sony Amplifier.. I bought this device for my speakers.. Sound qualitiy is very nice and it easy to use. I have my TV connected to Sony via Optical cable, My IPTV receiver and PS4 via HD cables.. I am using Bluetooth to connect my phone to Sony and listen to music.. I bought another one to my dad and he is happy with it.

Out performs my 700 dollar yamaha by a long shot. Plug and play, easy set up
