Set up to LG 75" Nano cell 4K with two bookshelf speakers and subwoofer. Simple, great value. Great sound from tv, music from sirius, amazon music, DVD. If you don't need surround this is a great choice. Excellent value and performance.

Hopefully Sony has a better life built into this, but it's a good value for the money, and should it fail I won't have lost half what the Yamahas cost. Works well, good sound, easy install and operation

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The first thing I noticed it it has some weight to the unit which means it has a good foundation and decent power supply. The esthetics is not the greatest however black goes well with most living rooms. I am running the system with two front Sony towers, a Sony center channel and subwoofer with the exception of the rear surround sound speakers which are Polk. After playing with the settings for a couple of days I am satisfied as I can now hear the voice in movies and the bass and mids don't over lap the voice in my movies. Now the bass is not too deep however it does the job and makes you feel the explanations and punches which further pull you into the movie. Having 725 watts is why I choose this unit over the 7.1 version as I listen to music as much as I watch movies so having 60-80 RMS watts per channel is important. Also having the option to add a second subwoofer is a good option and may do so in the future . The only down side is no Atmos or DTSX and still I am ok with that since my living room is small which makes my 5.1 set up perfect.

Easy setup that includes a test signal to verify surround sound speakers are properly synced. Bluetooth is great for connecting Amazon music playlist on my cell phone to my surround sound system.

Not a bad receiver

I have been really impressed with the performance of the device and the optional output hdmi ports. I would say some of the audio presets are kind of lame but some are really good. Bluetooth enabled which is awesome when you are cleaning the house and want to jam to your tunes!

Not as much as my dad who was the "component tower" and imported speaker kind of guy, but I know what to expect from good audio systems. I built a surround system with Sony Core Series speakers, but was running it from my old insignia receiver until I saved up for this guy. Night and day difference. I first thought the "self setup" mic was a gimmick, but it came with it, so I gave it a try. It works amazingly! You place it at the location of your head when watching TV, and hit go. You can fine tune the setup, and it shows speaker distance it found. It was within about 6 inches on each speaker after auto calibration. Only thing I miss is the AM radio tuner. Not a huge deal, but I'm in a rural area and it's nice to get those stronger signals. I'll trade the integrated Bluetooth for that any day!

Wonderful sound quality

This was a major upgrade, especially during the pandemic shutdown. I really love the ease of setup and that I can do it visually on my tv and the neatest part is the Bluetooth connectivity.

Almost too may controls!

This 590 has so many gadgets and controls built in, that for a non-audiophile, it was tricky to complete the overall setup. But I'm happy with this receiver, it has good sound, not very bulky, and expandable.
