NIce unit for the Price

Seemed to glitch quite a bit, would not recognize the eARC cable. Then wouldnt recognize the number of speakers. All had to be manually assigned, something I feel should be automatic. After a quick google search for troubleshooting I found a nice article from Sony that fixed the eARC issue. Then gave up on the speaker settings for the night. In the morning the "sony elves" worked their overnight magic and the speaker settings were good. Honestly could have been it needed a couple of full "power downs" to get things going. Still, I feel, this should have working out of the box. For the money though I am satisfied overall. I guess was spoiled my my $1300 Marantz HTR.

Give me a good ol' receiver and let me enjoy movies like they were meant to be enjoyed. This receiver also has a sound field called pure direct for the amateur audiophile. It lets you enjoy your music only through your front speakers-real nice feature.

The sound is clean. The receiver responds to my Samsung remotes. Most important to me was that all the signals pass through the receiver even in standby mode.

It may not have a million features but honestly does every item we own need to be 'smart'? Upgrading from my old 6 year old receiver to this I noticed a big increase in sound quality even though I kept the speakers.

It seems to work fine, but the setup is hard using the amp menu and the display on the front of the receiver. I'm really having a hard time making it work with my new Insignia Fire TV, and tech support is non existent. Would not recommend this product to anyone.

Paired up with new Sony SC3S speakers, new Sony subwoofer and WOW the sound is incredible. My only regret is i didn't get the 7.1 channel receiver for Dolby Atmos and DTS-X codecs... Overall, this is a great value for mid-range receiver options and it's the best bang for your bucks...
