Excellent receiver

Very happy with the receiver complimenting my AV setup, making switching between input sources (Xbox and cable TV) seamless with high fidelity output.

Replacement surround sound receiver.

There is just one thing that for the life of me I can't figure out, the rear speakers only work when we watch a Blu-ray. Everything else, cable tv, apple tv, music, just deliver sound through the front and center speakers. I'm sure i have something not set right but i'm still trying to figure it out. Great sound and remote. Receiver is actually hidden behind my tv above a fireplace. I would definatrly buy it again.

Was a good purchase

I had an old Sony stereo system and used its receiver for my surround. However, a few months ago it would not process the sound on newer movies. This was hard to come by but I was able to nab an open stock item for about half the cost. Only issue I had was the set-up was a bear. Probably because I am not a huge techie. Had to go on-line several times for instructions. I still give the item 5 stars because I believe the issue was more user driven. Puts out great sound.

Best bang for your buck!

Has all the latest tech like Dolby Atmos and DTSx. Best bang for the buck. Truly a well build receiver for the price range. Sony have been around forever and always delivers great products. Highly recommend this unit if your upgrading from a 5 channel receiver or don’t want to break the bank to get some new features like Atmos for a great price. I was using all 7 channels with 2 subs and the receiver handled effortlessly.

Poor build and design controls difficult to see and understand . Display hard to decipher. Auto set up inaccurate must be done manually. 1stt unit died after aa month was able to exchange it at Best Buy,the new one is still working after a month . The saving grace is that it’s about the cheapest atmos receiver out there and it has a low height important to fitting into my cabinet.
