UBP-X800-M2 volume control issue

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you have a Sony UBP-X800-M2 4k Blu-Ray player, don't expect the volume control on the Blu-Ray remote to directly control this receiver volume. I was able to get the Blu-Ray remote to control the TV volume, which in turn was able to control the amp volume via the HDMI cable. On a side note, it does not cause my subwoofer to hum when the receiver is powered off as other amps do.

With the Bravia Sync/Control for HDMI function of this receiver, you can only control the volume of the receiver using the TV remote control. Great upgrade to worn out and out of date system.

Nice entry level receiver

I got this for my parents when their Denon AV receiver not the dust. This one has more hdmi ports and the remote is so simple even my 70+ parents can use it. Sound quality is good.

Atmos at a reasonable cost

It works well and is not difficult to set up. It does take a little tinkering though and it has its downsides. However it also doesn’t break the bank and preforms well.

This one sometimes does not automatically switch between assessor it’s like other receivers do. Meaning going from U-verse, to Apple TV or DVD player. But it’s still a nice sounding unit.
