pretty good unit so far

So far the sound is pretty good. Not getting sound from one of the six speakers but may or may no be the recevier's fault. Might be due to content or faulty wiriring or the speaker itself. The unit did go into protect mode when playing a scene from Avenger's Endgame. I didn't think I had it on too loud but was testing the sound at the time so who knows. Also turned itself off last night while watching TV at not very loud volume. Only time it has done that so far. Another annoyance but livable is when you use arc and use the cable remote to turn the TV and receiver on it defaults to the TV input instead of cable so I have to hit that button on the remote to get sound.

If the receiver shows Protect on the display panel it's a possible indication of a power failure or a power surge. We'd like to isolate and troubleshoot the issue further, since you mentioned that it's possible that the wiring is the problem. It is recommended to disconnect all of the speakers and subwoofer and check that the speaker wires are tightly twisted on both ends. Also please make sure that the impedance of the connected speakers is the correct impedance range indicated on the back panel of the receiver. This is also the possible cause of the one speaker having no audio and the receiver turning off automatically, another possible cause is “AUTO.STBY” is set to “STBY ON” or the sleep timer function. Excellent Specs, Bargain Price, and Many Features!

For the price of this model, it offers a lot of nice features along with very good specs. I currently only have 5 speakers and a sub connected to it but it has worked flawlessly since I have installed it. I do a lot of audio mixing and really appreciate the Pure Direct function so I can hear what I'm working on without any baked in EQ settings. It also does a great job on upmixing stereo movies and music into surround sound. I also appreciate the blue tooth connectivity for connecting portable devices such as phones and tablets. Last thing to find out now is it's longevity.

Great receiver, especially for the price

Using the setup in 5.1 with Definitive Technology ProCinema 600 speaker package. Able to precisely control speaker output with this receiver. Sounds great!

Paired with a Sony Bravia 4K TV, works together perfectly! Excellent sound with Bose Acoustimass 10 speaker system. Setup and configuration was very easy.

Perfect for entry level/intermediate systems

It has the basic necessities for your family room and a simple atmos set up. The instructions are simple enough too if you are really new to setting up speakers. If you’re looking for zones / wifi capabilities it’s not the receiver for you. Only “con” is that the receiver remote control needs direct sight of the receiver itself. If you have a Sony tv and are running ARC; after you set up the receiver to the tv - the tv remote should work to control basic receiver functions such as on/off and volume up/down. If you want to fine tune the receiver you would still need to use the receiver remote and make sure the receiver has a direct line of site to the remote.

I like the hd audio and the 4k comparability. You can pay a lot for an amp this amp is reasonably priced. It has good qualities. It performs surprisingly well.

I purchased it because one of my receivers failed, and the units that I was interested in purchasing were all on back order. The unit was rather picky about connections to my computers, so the setup was a little bit frustrating. In the end, I did manage to get the important one working with it. The sound quality is pretty good considering the price point. There is a periodic hum in the speakers when it is idle, but it is not too obnoxious like other cheaper receivers I have listened to over the years. The bottom line for this receiver is that for the price point, its a good unit and worth looking into.
