    very disappointed with this unit for the price. osd is very basic and outdated style. adjustability is pretty limited and sound quality is not even good.

    If you are using it as a standard receiver i guess it is fine. The 4k pass-through didn't work with HDR so i ended up returning it and going with a denon instead.

    When it works, it's great. However, the screen will black out at times, even with a cooling fan on top of it.

      Thanks for the feedback. Double check the connection on your TV and AV receiver. Make sure the HDMI cable is properly connected. Power reset the unit, simply unplug the unit and wait 1-2 minutes then plug the device back in and power on

    We purchased this protect in April. After months of light use, it kept shutting down with power protect mode. We returned it and purchased the JBL MA710.

    This is a very good receiver, but the main drawback for me was the fact that it does not have RCA jacks on the back. If you have any additional units to add to your system that don't use HDMI, then it is problematic.

      Hi JoseA,

      We're sorry you've been running into difficulty. Low volume may also be a result of another component connected to one of the input sources, such as a Set-top Box (STB) or television.

      1. Check the connection between your source and the A/V receiver to make sure they are securely connected.
      2. Try a different input jack to eliminate any issues with the current jack that is being used.
      NOTE: If the audio is being sent from a television or STB to the A/V receiver, it may be necessary to disable the internal speakers of the input source or set the audio output of a TV to FIXED or VARIABLE. If the audio output of a TV is set to VARIABLE, then you will need to increase the volume level of the TV.
      3. Switch to a different source, such as a CD player, to verify whether the volume is low on all sources or just the one that you are using.
      IMPORTANT: If the volume level sounds fine on all other input sources or when playing the A/V system separately, contact the manufacturer of the input source with low volume for further assistance.

      If No sound or only a very low level of sound is heard, no matter which device is selected, check if sound is heard or if low sound level improves after completing each step on the link below.

    I purchased this unit and was not impressed. I quickly returned it and purchased a Denon. For the price this unit is very basic with few added features.

    This was a very lousy receiver, the quality on this is very hallow. I have a very sensitive ear so I had to return this and get a an upgrade.

    I bought this reciever to run my two twelve inch pioneer speakers for my home with my xbox works perfectly with the hdmi pass through sounds great and the bluetooth is a plus

    This amp has subtle tube amp characteristics, in which the the low frequencies are warm and deep while the high and mid frequencies mesh smoothly, with no harshness to the ear.

    Had an Onkyo for the last 8 years when it finally decided to stop working. Been having issues for about a year so I knew it didn't have long to live. Although the Onkyo is an excellent receiver I never did like the complexity of it. The other thing that I didn't realize was the HDMI port on the Onkyo was not a pass-through for my new 4K tv I purchased over a year ago. I wanted something at a fair price, easy to setup and only the features I needed. I purchased this unit and kept my fingers crossed. I'm happy to say that I was not disappointed. The setup was as easy as I could hope for. After calibrating with the supplied microphone it was time to test the sound and video quality. I was stunned at how my 4K tv looked. Apparently, I have been watching 4K content at less than 4K resolution and the sound was simply awesome. I was getting sound from parts of the room that I had never heard before. I had to adjust my sub-woofer some but that was it. No need to adjust individual speakers around the room. The calibration took care of that. The speech was constantly crystal clear at any volume. Really happy with this unit and would highly recommend it.

    It only works for a few minutes and then turns off unexpectedly. Horrible experience especially when you buy it to watch the super bowl. I do not recommend it avoid the shame in front of your friends and family.

    Bought a Yamaha. Went on a stand by protection mode on June 2020 still at warranty service. And the Sony did not sound as expected. Returned

    Very happy with the variation of sound fields and quality. Been enjoying the Dolby Atmos feature. Wish my tv had the EARC vs just the ARC feature so I could enjoy Atmos for streaming services though. But thats not the receivers fault. It's a powerful receiver and priced well.
