It delivers excellent sound quality. It can accommodate nearly any surround sound configurations. It was easy to set up and calibrate. I like that I do not have to switch between devices as combining it with my Q90 R one box allows you to hear whatever is on the TV.

Added some Dolby atmos speakers. Only issue is I sometimes like to listen to music and watch tv sometimes. When you pair your iPhone you can’t watch tv.

I verified all my speaker cables multiple times, replugged them in one at a time but even with none plugged it would still shut off after a few minutes. It worked fine for 5 months, then started this issue a couple weeks ago. My AC is set to 72, the unit has a ceiling fan above it, i tried using that as well after reading online but still it rebooted. I put another receiver in its place to make sure my speakers, subs are ok and it worked fine. This unit sounded good, i didnt know a receiver could impact the sound so much, i am guessing I just got a lemon that has a failed capacitor or something inside. -- What I am disappointed with is that I paid the additional $60 for a geek squad warranty. I have no found out that Best Buy wont do anything until the sony warranty lapses. Sony has been a real pain to deal with, I sent the receiver to sony last week, and it will be 7-10 days until they send the replacement. I have been unable to use my home theater room in a week and a half, and probably have another week and a half to wait. I bought the warranty with the expectation I would avoid any inconvenience such as this. Otherwise - i think it is a great unit and look forward to the new one.

We replaced an Onkyo that we bought not too long ago and was giving us nothing but problems. Not only did our problems go away, but the sound quality improved immensely. The Dolby Atmos is amazing. Low price.......great sound and function. Highly recommend

I bought it because this was the only receiver they had in the store. Plenty of empty shelves these days. No regrets. Very easy hookup/ setup. Sound quality is superb. Sony has never let me down.

I can’t imagine how this’ll perform once I set up a 7.2. I highly recommend this Sony AV receiver. Those other expensive AV receivers are complete ripoffs! The set up was easy. I did manually add more sub. It's smaller the the old unit which I like. The sound quality is superb in my opinion. Movies sound great and the separation is much better than the Onkyo or the Pioneer I had previously. Very happy with this Receiver!

Love the hdmi arc and how it works. For the black Friday deal I got it on its a great deal. Replaced my 16 year old Sony strd 915 receiver which I moved into my computer room. Altmos Starter

Having gone from the entry (590?) receiver without Altmos to this one wasn’t the big difference I thought it was going to be but, when it does it does add a bit more expansive sound to the room.

I had all my 7.1 speakers connected with banana plugs on my older receiver and the only banana plug connectors on this unit are for the mains. Trying to feed a larger gauge surround speaker wire into those cheap push connector holes is frustrating and in no way provides a solid connection.
