It has amazing compatibility with in wall speakers. I was wondering from quiet sometime how I can connect my TV with in wall speaker and after some research I choose to go with this amplifier recommend to buy subwoofer with this product and it will give you crazy bass love to hear music and sound after adding all together

Works great in a 5.1 setup. I replaced a really old receiver that didn’t have hdmi. The hdmi ARC stuff works great and it sounds just as good or better than my old receiver. For the price it was good (with the chip shortage ongoing)

This receiver has transformed my listening experience in a wonderful way. I am now able to broadcast TV, CD and radio through the ceiling speakers installed by previous owners of my home ... a delightful sound system.

I chose this amp because I needed a 4k pass-through in a small footprint. I've typically been a Yamaha guy but was happy to try the Sony. First problem was the pass-through was really iffy. Most of the time it didn't work properly and would leave me with sound and a black screen. I found a firmware update (even though the update was 3 months old on my brand new Amp), installed it and it seems better (not perfect still). The sound is good for movies. Even after the auto setup the amp lacks the crispness and definition that my Yamaha did. The sound doesn't have the same edges in the low range and lacks crispness in the upper range, but in some ways this works fine for movies and TV. My biggest issue is that besides the annoying pass-through problem, the amp runs REALLY warm in standby mode. It must be burning a lot of energy to pass-through and keeps my media cupboard probably more than 20 degrees warmer than it should be. By contrast, my Yamaha was stone cold in standby.

Unbelievable sound, the reviews were right. I now have total ATMOS in my living room, SONY has always been noted for sound. No need to go to a more expensive brand. PERFECT. ALSO, BOUGHT IT ON SALE WITH THE REST OF THE SYSTEM

Really great audio system that pairs perfectly with other components. The auto sync feature when you turn on the TV is nice. Overall I've been blown away by this sound system, especially for the affordable price point. I have this in a 5.1 setup.

By the time I ordered it it was at my doorstep and under 2 hours but definitely do this again

Very good sound and picture with this AVR. It was purchased for the in laws as they wanted to start streaming Disney + and their old machine would produce picture but no sound. The Sony works perfectly and was easy to set up.

This receiver is great. I have 4 speakers and a subwoofer plugged into it. Great sound! We need to update our TV to enjoy all of it’s capabilities, but even with the old TV the sound is great! Setup was pretty easy and straightforward. I recommend this unit.

I have not had any problems with this device since purchasing 1x month ago. Sound quality is good, speaker connections were accessible, and it easily connects to my phone, iPad, and laptop via Bluetooth. Easy to use, and is compatible with the remote for my Sony television.

Need something just simple but all the features of the new smart TV and Smart HDMI cords. This is the puppy. Amazing how just from my phone I can connect to the receiver and it turns everything on to Bluetooth music etc. what a great price too!

Very good system for a decent price. I’m running 4 in wall speakers and my home theater sounds great! Only thing I wish is that the menu was not something that looked like it was made in the 90’s.

My old, old Kenwood receiver bit the dust and then I pondered what to do next for my surround sound experience? I reached getting a soundbar and let me tell you that is a difficult choice-there are way too many choices to make a good decision, well at least IMO. I also looked at a new surround system and it seemed like to me that the choices were really cheap to really expensive-I was shooting for mid-ground in price wise. That's where this Sony comes into the story. It was a real nice find. By the way, I offered up the old broken Kenwood to Craigslist free to anyone that could fix it-that got plenty of offers and eventually it found it's way to someone willing to give it go. I still had the speakers for the Kenwood, which are still pretty good for my setup, and with this Sony the sound is great. My ultra HD blu ray player is great as well-the old, old Kenwood wouldn't support that so this feature just blows the old, old one away. I really couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Easy set up, used for 5.1 surround sound as well as playing music in two rooms: living room 5.1 and kitchen with 2 additional wired speakers. Wish these AVRs did not look like 1985 but that's not unique to Sony.

Easily one of the best receivers I ever own. The sound quality hooked up to my speakers sounds fantastic. Easy to set up and use. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a good sound system.
