I was pleasantly surprised buy the sound and the features. For the price you cant go wrong and its more than enough power to run a TV/Surround setup. Buy it . You wont be disappointed !

Good receiver for small systems.

Also, the TV and Blu-ray player I have are Sony, do connecting was pretty easy. I gave 4 stars because of compatibility with my cable box remote and the display is difficult to read from a distance.

I had all my 7.1 speakers connected with banana plugs on my older receiver and the only banana plug connectors on this unit are for the mains. Trying to feed a larger gauge surround speaker wire into those cheap push connector holes is frustrating and in no way provides a solid connection.

Its only lacking network connectivity...but makes up for it with sound quality... 140watts per channel!

So far the sound is pretty good. Not getting sound from one of the six speakers but may or may no be the recevier's fault. Might be due to content or faulty wiriring or the speaker itself. The unit did go into protect mode when playing a scene from Avenger's Endgame. I didn't think I had it on too loud but was testing the sound at the time so who knows. Also turned itself off last night while watching TV at not very loud volume. Only time it has done that so far. Another annoyance but livable is when you use arc and use the cable remote to turn the TV and receiver on it defaults to the TV input instead of cable so I have to hit that button on the remote to get sound.

If the receiver shows Protect on the display panel it's a possible indication of a power failure or a power surge. We'd like to isolate and troubleshoot the issue further, since you mentioned that it's possible that the wiring is the problem. It is recommended to disconnect all of the speakers and subwoofer and check that the speaker wires are tightly twisted on both ends. Also please make sure that the impedance of the connected speakers is the correct impedance range indicated on the back panel of the receiver. This is also the possible cause of the one speaker having no audio and the receiver turning off automatically, another possible cause is “AUTO.STBY” is set to “STBY ON” or the sleep timer function. For the price of this model, it offers a lot of nice features along with very good specs. I currently only have 5 speakers and a sub connected to it but it has worked flawlessly since I have installed it. I do a lot of audio mixing and really appreciate the Pure Direct function so I can hear what I'm working on without any baked in EQ settings. It also does a great job on upmixing stereo movies and music into surround sound. I also appreciate the blue tooth connectivity for connecting portable devices such as phones and tablets. Last thing to find out now is it's longevity.

Solid Receiver for the price.

I got it open box and it did exactly what it says. It works perfectly with my system and the atmos sounds great. I love that I can hook up two subs, I love a lot of bass, and it works well with my ceiling speakers. Setting it up with the built in app does take awhile, but once you get it setup its sound amazing. Definitely the best receiver I’ve had. I’ve seen better receivers, but for the price you can’t go wrong.
