Having recently purchased the Bravia Oled 95k I needed something that would support Atmos to get the best out of my home theater. Pairing this with Sony Core Series towers I couldn’t be happier. Watching Dune on blue ray I was able to pick up details in sounds that I couldn’t hear before. The richness and fullness is incredible. I look forward to watching more movies and being fully immersed.

More than enough inputs & outputs for what I have. A couple takeaways: - Pretty slim design overall. A little smaller than other receivers out there. - Knobs are a little harder to turn than other receivers but it’s a nice touch. Instant loud sound gratification is not gratified LOL - A lot of settings for the price. - Remote is OK. Pretty compact and built for presets and inputs. No on-remote bass/treble buttons. - Have to disconnect Bluetooth device in order for system to remain off. If not, system will turn back on. - Good directions, build quality, and sound output. A little bass heavy but nothing a good subwoofer can’t fix.

It even goes into "protect" mode and shuts itself off if you plug in speakers that can't handle the output. I had pioneer upfiring speakers that were only 80w per pair(6ohms) and when I pushed the volume the unit shut itself off to "protect" them. Now I simply use them elsewhere and have no problem pushing the volume. This is a very good receiver at a reasonable price. Movies sound awesome! BTW I also purchased receiver fans to keep the unit cool. It didn't overheat but I wanted to be sure it never did.

The sound is amazing, the menu shows up on screen for you to use, so no hunching over a layout from a piece a paper that you will lose. It corrects the sound for your room, multiple 4k60Hz outputs and a handsome front face. I’d definitely purchase again.

DO the Job, better than TV Speaker... i put it on my bedroom now my wife always watch her fav netflix movies... using 5.0 ( front Bi-amp) ..... for this price no complain,,, a little hard to do the setting since im a ONKYO user... on my living room home theater has 7.1.2 ..... i will recommend for those level entry.... for the watching and music, i think this one of the best level entry...7.2 channel...

Excellent receiver!

There are also two powered subwoofers connected to it. We tested it with the polar express with the volume around 35 as I recall. After about 10 minutes it started to overheat and went to protect mode and shut off. Honestly I don’t think it was designed to drive this many speakers as it has no cooling fan. I bought a Silent Dual 5v 120mm USB Fan Set with 3 Adjustable Wind speeds. They plug into the USB port on the back of the Sony and come on go off with the Sony receiver. We have since watched several movies quite loudly and it hasn’t had any issues. I also like that it comes on and goes off with the television.

User friendly from the get go. Right now using it as a stereo using my iPhone connected to Polk Audio bookshelf speakers and wow what an incredible sound with clear highs and clean tight bass ZERO distortion!

Don't buy. Won't last

Didn't even make it 2 years. A buzzing noise started then stopped. Stopped auto detecting tv turning on. Popping noise started when turning on/off. Overheating protection mode started going off all the time no matter what we did. Capacitors weren't swollen. Was in an open cabinet
