    Like many others who have reviewed this, I too was down grading from a much higher spec receiver because I never used all the extra inputs and outputs. Set up was easy, but a little tricky. You set it up as 7.1 and then have to use the menu to convert is to 5.1.2. Works great and the price was unbelievably low (keep checking the website for sales). Only negative was the blue-tooth would not pair with my Sony wireless headphones.

    Good value and sound . Poor build and design controls difficult to see and understand . Display hard to decipher. Auto set up inaccurate must be done manually. 1stt unit died after aa month was able to exchange it at Best Buy,the new one is still working after a month . The saving grace is that it’s about the cheapest atmos receiver out there and it has a low height important to fitting into my cabinet.

    Owned this receiver for just over two years. Great connectivity. Easy to use menu. Front display crapped out and when i sent it in, they couldnt get it to happen (i sent in video evidence kf the display freaking out). So now im out of warranty with a front display i cant read.

    I originally purchased this as a temporary solution to power a 5.1.2 system until I saved up for a separate AV preamp, power amp set up. I am using all SVS prime speakers with Yamaha in ceiling speakers for the height channels. This little AVR powers this set up beautifully and is controlled by any remote I turn the TV on with. My only quibble is the setup interface is a bit clunky and out dated looking. At high volumes it runs a bit hot so I purchased an AC infinity fan.

    Lets be honest. I wanted a receiver in the 2k to 3k cost arena to try and check off all the boxes of everything I needed in a receiver. Then I saw this Sony and low and behold, although it didn't check off all the boxes, it covered most of them and at a price that is so inexpensive that you really can't believe it. Very impressed with it all of its inputs i.e. Cable, Roku, Blue Ray and PS4 for the kids. I reconfigured my speakers for Dolby Atmos and voila, its a fantastic surround sound system. Incredibly impressed!!!

    Perfect replacement for my Bose Lifestyle System, which failed after 13 years. I was able to use the Bose speakers, which worked perfectly with the Sony receiver. I added 2 Sony subwoofers and the Sony Dolby Atmos speakers. Everything connected easily and the sound far surpasses my previous setup. The Sony receiver has matching ports with my newer TV. The Sony equipment is very price competitive and works as advertised.

    Upgraded from an older Sony receiver that was failing and couldn't be happier. Speaker connections were straight forward for my 5.1 setup. I used banana plugs for the front speakers which was extremely easy. I am not utilizing the Atmos feature right now but that is an option for the future with this receiver. The ARC feature works perfectly with my newer Samsung smart TV. I used the included microphone to automatically set up the speakers and am happy with the settings. Overall I am very happy with the purchase.
