I have like 6 in-ceiling speaker and a center channel speaker hooked up to it. I got the speakers from Amazon Micca company and they sound amazing ! I paired all them of with klipsch subwoofer and it sounds like super expensive movie theater surround sound. There are so many option for movie, music, and speech you pic. Bluetooth music with phone is pretty easy to use also.

The audio quality is Ok but I wouldn't call it great compared to more expensive models. Still for those not interested in spending a lot of time optimizing their audio and just want a receiver that works. This does just fine. My only big gripe is that there seems to be a delay in remote commands and periodically the receiver will claim it doesn't detect the video input even though you can see the video coming in.

Seems to only go to 80% volume. Also, speaker settings can be confusing with the various speaker setups and locations.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.These receivers are powerful enough to drive my tower front speakers with two 8" woofers, 6" midrange, and tweeters, 5 other speakers in a 7.2 setup plus 2 powered subwoofers. My biggest worry was if I'd have enough power to even hear the speakers. LOL! There is enough power to blow you out of the house with smooth no distortion sound. Personally, I don't need some of the extras. My 65 in" Samsung TV has all of the streaming capabilities and with youtube TV, I really don't need anything else. I think these 7.2 Dolby Atmos receivers are coming down in price because the companies plan to string the 9 channel receivers and sell those cheaper than they do presently. Now for the bad news. My receiver always would lock up on the sound calibration test and after 2 weeks, I kept getting error messages concerning the rear surround channel. What a shame, it is a killer unit other than these flaws, so this unit must go back. These are selling like hotcakes everywhere, so somebody is getting good ones.

These are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. After my center channel went out on my 15 yr old Pioneer I needed a new one. I needed a lower profile to fit in my entertainment center. I bought this Sony and I am very happy. It was easy to setup and has great sound in 5.1. I haven't tried the 7.2 yet. It isn't a sound pounding receiver but does put out quality sound. I bought an open box at BB and added the 4 year warranty. I am happy with my choice. I was also looking at the Onkyo but due the the height I bought this one. No regrets.
