Good Receiver for the average Home Entertainment

Banana plugs for only the front speakers which could make it difficult for wires bigger than 14 guage. Sound is good but compared to my old Onykyo without 4K it was subpar. Seems to connect with other devices better and easier to operate changes and the remote.

This sony was just as easy to hook up , it has a much better sound then the onkyo.. you can hear the differance in my system.. I still have more playing to do with this.. But it is a nice piece..

You can't connect an external FM antenna to your A/V receiver, but you can improve the FM reception.
Adjust the position of the supplied FM wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the reception condition is good.
Place the antenna near a window.
Position the antenna as horizontally as possible.

Love that 7.1, and 4k passthrough!

If you need 4K HDR make sure you set each HDMI input to ENHANCED mode in the ARC Menu. Initially my PS4 didn't want to use full 4K HDR until I enabled that setting. Make sure you read the manual for more sweet features.

Solid basic home theater amplifier.

It's not super expensive and does the job with strong sound including bass when hooked to a multi-speaker system. Some of the setup is a little tricky. We also wished it had built in Bluetooth tramsmission to use with headphones.

Good Receiver....But

My only turn off about it is that when cutting it on, it makes a loud popping noise from my connected speakers. Tried to reset everything and re-try it but still there. It’s a little annoying and I’m concerned about what this may be doing to my speakers long term.

Great for the price

It’s not advertised but this system has Dolby Atmos. Took some tweaking to get the sound where I wanted it but I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

Your able to get volume control across all of your devices , and no compatibility issues. Sound is clean and almost as good as amps costing twice the money .

Atmos Sound that Kicks for Little Money

Bluetooth hooks easily to other devices and automatic set up and calibration of speakers is as easy as 123. Would recommend for anyone wanting to get into an Atmos system on a budget.

One of my favorites

I have purchased 4 of these over the course of 10 years and each time I have been impressed with how Sony takes out the complications of setting up the new one and makes it easier each time. Easy to follow instructions makes connection to your new TV or surround sound a breeze. Now, with the improvements to Bluetooth you can connect any nearly any brand of speakers and no wire connections are needed. Another great idea from Sony.
