The only issue is my Harmony multi remote doesn't work with the unit except to turn it on and off. Also each time I turn the unit on it makes me go through the setup procedure before I can just watch my TV. I do like the sound and the options for the sound to my speakers.

Also best looking one in my opinion. Alot of new receivers look dated. Looked like my old one. The sony though looks up do date and sounds awesome! You don't need alot of things the more expensive ones have. This works perfect!

After I upgraded my TV to a 4K unit I needed to upgrade my receiver to one that would pass 4K video. I picked this Sony unit and am very pleased with its performance. It replaced our previous Sony receiver so we already knew the about the quality. But the sound we receive makes me feel like I'm in a real movie theatre. It has several ports so you can plug in several speakers.

Could use a little more power and the UI seems a bit dated but very functional. The ARC and device interfacing has been great with my game systems and TV.

Easy set up but control not intuitive

I do have a problem with setting up the sound options. I have to play with the remote to get the correct sound setting I want for my different inputs. - this may just me - I just don't find it intuitive.

I love that it has multiple connections in the back so I can plug all my devices into it as opposed to the TV. It does a pretty good job of turning everything on when I turn the TV on or the Blu-ray and switching to the right connections though there have been a couple of times I had to use the remote to switch it to the right HDMI but that is not the standard. Seems like it was a really good value for the price considering all the modern stuff it has.

It’s a well documented complaint for many years that Sony ignores. It has to do with hdmi-cec which can be disabled but you lose the ability to use ARC, which is necessary for my setup. The audio quality is very good and it sounds much better than my old Yamaha. It’s a shame of the other issue because it would be great otherwise. I purchased an open box and it was missing the remote and a few other minor items. I use a harmony remote so it’s not a huge deal though, not worth returning.

The installation and setup were fairly easy with many fine tuning options. Since going to the movies will be on hold for a while this is the next best thing to setting up a home theatre. Enjoy!

Setup was kind of tricky and being open box, the calibration microphone for the speakers was nowhere to be found. It was a good value. Big learning curve for me, but I think I would buy it again.

Does the job better than imagined

Awesome budget atmos receiver

The others were more user friendly in the interface which is why I gave it 4 stars. The sound is awesome though and I love the atmos.
