I wanted something with Dolby and this receiver is stupendous. Packs a punch and has all the bells and whistles and options. You can’t go wrong.

It connected automatically with my Visio smart TV and makes my Kliptch floor-standing reference speakers sing like angels. The 4k version of "Apocolypse Now" sounded awesome through the system. The receiver is an excellent for the modest cost.

Considering the price I would rather buy a Denon AVR (s760h). Infact I did! And it was a great decision. I didn't think a different AVR would sound so different, but it did. It felt like I had an entirely new system. The audyssey room correction without any adjustments is miles better than the Sony. The only thing better about the Sony for me is the HDMI CEC worked flawlessly, the Denon on the other hand

Amazing receiver to power my Klipsch wf-35's, r-50m's, and wc-24. I couldn't get the sensor to work thats supposed to read the room. The microphone on it seems really cheap. However, its not really needed.

As a result, there were some key items missing that were not noticed until set up. These items restrict full capabilities of the unit. Having these results, there will be no more open box purchases.

Great receive with a menu that wont go away

Its functionallybawesome but has this annoying problem where it has a home menu rhat cant be turned off. Every time you start the receive, there’s a home me u asking you what uou want to do with the receiver. Sonybsays it cant be turned off. Returning it. Reveivers should just turn on and go.
