Good features, fair #I/O connections - .9% distort

Strangely HD radio was not included. The only negative is 0.9% Total Harmonic Distortion. Under 1% THD is acceptable, whereas quality receivers usually have less than 0.1% THD. There's a fair number of I/O connections, with 6 audio inputs (4 RCA, 1 CoAxial, 1 Optical), 2 audio outputs (2 subwoofers), and for video 4 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. Overall a good consumer grade receiver choice, with a 2 year warranty from Sony.

Separates 5.1 sound through 7.1 speakers, unlike previous Denon I had. Hwoecer, bafflingly, it doesn’t have wireless or even wired Ethernet capability.

I do recommend this product. I had difficulty reaching the store to make sure they had one. Very poor phone customer service. But in store customer service was very good.

Good but two small issues I encountered!

It will recognize it during calibration but won't play at all unless you are on the Youtube app. Also, the tv volume will not syn with the receiver audio control (I have an OLED Sony tv) They are usually 4-8 units apart. The image quality is outstanding! Note: I tried to play with the setting, read the manual, and I could not make the subwoofer work at all!

Thank you for the review and It is unfortunate that the unit had to be returned. You should verify first that the subwoofer is enabled in the Speaker Pattern (SP) settings. If a pattern that ends in .0 is selected, the subwoofer will not work. Connect one end of the audio cable to the subwoofer audio input connector. Very lightly tap on the center conductor of the other end of the cable. If the subwoofer is powered on and adjusted properly, you should be able to hear a thumping sound on the subwoofer. If you do not hear a thumping sound then there is a possible service issue with the subwoofer. Thank you for sharing your experience and we hope you will consider Sony again in a future purchase.
