Nice product but not what I needed

It was alright and did a decent job however I ended up sending my old receiver in to be repaired. Once that came back I realized I couldn’t justify the price point of this receiver when I had one that works perfectly fine. I ended up returning this product

Sound too good to believe (but it's true)

The old one had so many issues, the main one being using those fragile digital optical cables (too expensive, too hard to get inserted properly, too easy to break). This box has lots of inputs & outputs using the much superior HDMI technology. I can "tune" my sound to hear the full Surround Sound for movies but also a better "human voice" sound for my TV shows. The improvement in voice recognition has allowed me to watch TV without my hearing aids. Winner!

Working Well so far

Volume knob is a bit tough, but most will use the remote anyways. I grabbed it on sale, and it's replaced my existing (but fried) STRDH770.

Great until not even a year.

I’m getting “protect” mode now and it hasn’t been a year yet. Checked all wires, speakers, reset, unplugged and its plugged directly to wall outlet and no solution. Why all of a sudden?

Awesome 4K receiver

I was seeing a delayed sound (approximately a 1/2 second) with my old receiver combined with my new 4K TV. My old receiver was only a few years old and I could not believe this was the issue. I tried calling the cable company with no success. I finally replaced all the HDMI cables to 4K and the receiver to 4K. Now I have no sound issues and a much sharper picture. If you upgrade to 4K some say it’s not necessary to upgrade everything, but I found it to be beneficial !!!!
