Wish it had a few more hdmi inputs but you get what you pay for. Great price point. That said once setup and everything was connected I attempted to calibrate the speakers with the provided mic only to find that the mic was defective and wasn’t detecting any sound. Thank goodness I had a spare mic from my pioneer elite receiver otherwise I would have been returning it.

I is not. I've had it only about 7 months and run my hand when it clips. Warm yes but not hot. And, just a heads up, the on-screen menu when you use a monitor to set-up is horrible compared to other AVR units. I think I will go back to a different brand if this is out of warranty.

Great amp

I have always enjoyed Sony amplifiers. This is my second. The first one, purchase 16 years ago, runs my home theater. Pros - Bluetooth connection. To stream music. Many connections for Apple TV, DVD player, Cable box. Con- doesn’t have a turntable/phono preamp. I had to buy one separately. Not a big deal. Probably won’t effect many people. I’m running a 40 year old Technics turntable.

Terrible product and service experience

Owned for 7 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this receiver since the end of November; in early May the receiver would shut off every 20 minutes of use. I completed the factory troubleshooting recommendations and finally sent it back in to Best Buy to see if it could be exchanged. I was informed it would need to be sent out for repair, and was informed I would be without my product for two weeks. I tracked the status of the repair online and was astonished that almost a month later it was still in queue to be repaired. I emailed my representative and was informed that we were waiting on the main board to be shipped from the manufacturer. Once the month of waiting for the part had passed I was told I could receive a new product, but unfortunately I was out of town. By the time I got back in town, my repaired product was ready for pickup. I happily went to Best Buy to pick it up, but when I got it home, no sound would come out of my speakers. When I attempted to auto calibrate I received and error that said I had headphones plugged in. I DID NOT HAVE HEADPHONES PLUGGED IN. I took the product back to Best Buy and told them that the repair had been botched and that I had been a month waiting on a repair that they claimed had been completed, when, in fact, it had not been completed. I was told that corporate policy would not allow them to exchange my product for a new one, and that it had to be SENT BACK OUT FOR REPAIR...AGAIN. I asked the customer service representative how many times this would have to happen, she nudged my product sitting on the counter in an attempt to get me to leave the store for being "argumentative." I asked for the store manager and I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I was told in no uncertain terms that I would not get a new product to replace my broken one, and had to ship it back to the service center that messed up the repair to begin with. I gave it to them on Saturday and IT IS STILL WAITING TO BE SHIPPED ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON. The customer service that I have received is so sub-par that I will not purchase ANYTHING ELSE FROM BEST BUY...EVER AGAIN. I am thoroughly disappointed in my Sony product, AND the sub par care that I have received from Best Buy despite being a "Best Buy Member...never again...

It’s also a easy to use and will pair with any remote right away!
