I thought I would give Sony a try. For the money it provides positive features but the sound is not what I expected. Will keep but keep an eye out for a newer better model.

You can enjoy higher-fidelity sound from all inputs using the Pure Direct function. When the Pure Direct function is on, the display panel is turned off to suppress noise that affects sound quality. If you have had a Sony receiver before you will already know how to use this one. Navigation menu is the same as it has been for years. Remote is simple but solid

First, attempts to simplify controls has made them more complex. Second, the lack of a PHONO jack made connecting my turntable an engineering exercise I had not planned on doing. Otherwise, this AVR works flawlessly, as did the SONY receiver it replaced, after 26 years.
