Sony amplifier

Able to control volume of each speaker from the remote which is great during football games when you want to hear the band and not so much all the talking from the play by play. The only cons are when I turn on the system, the tv and cable box come on but the audio go to tv and not the cable box. Then when I turn the system off, the amplifier turns off but then turns itself back on. Had the geek squad install the new sony but it is a minor inconvenience to manually turn sony on and off.

I is not. I've had it only about 7 months and run my hand when it clips. Warm yes but not hot. And, just a heads up, the on-screen menu when you use a monitor to set-up is horrible compared to other AVR units. I think I will go back to a different brand if this is out of warranty.

The emote controller died, otherwise excellent

The receiver worked fine. However, after about one week normal use, the remote controller suddenly died (did not work even with new batteries), and got replaced. It has worked great since.

Sony doesn’t disappoint

Quality entry level Home Theater receiver

Self-calibration feature works well and is very useful. It would have been nice to have a switched plug on the unit so that I could turn off everything (including my TV) with one button. But that's a quibble. Got an open box at a great price.

worst experience of my life!

I was told I has to take back to a store (even though I ordered on line). Closest best buy to me was 31/2 hour round trip. Nonetheless I mage the trek and the people in the Saginaw Mi store were the rudest I have ever encountered in my 75 years. I ended up just getting a refund and will probably never darken the door of another best buy and will make sure my circle of acquaintances know my feelings,

Sony is still using those dang wire clips, but outside of that my complaints are limited to the following: - plastic knobs feel cheap, too much travel too feel tactile - no integrated streaming
