It is basic the same as 5.2 the receiver but this one has 7.2. More features and bigger receiver. It is better than pioneer I owned and it broke in a few days to exchange this Sony. Very simple calibration and set it to forget it. Pioneer is more complex calibration

Good TV, some issues with WiFi and motion

There are some issues with motion since it seems blurred too often compared to an LG that I had before. Other than that it needs to be more responsive to WiFi and more stable overall.

It has almost all the bells and whistles that you could want but at heart it does a very good job on decoding the incoming signals. I have not problems with eARC connections and overall it just does a great job. Highly recommended.

An awesome all around sound system!

It’s awesome! Allows me to play music through the provided antenna, Bluetooth from my phone or even hooks up to my TV and DVR! It’s just all around awesome!

I was a little 'old fashioned' when trying it out, but it has all the functions (even MORE than my last receiver) with less wire spaghetti. Definitely follow the Quick Set-Up instruction sheet.

Blue tooth connection works great to pair with phone to stream music. Only wish I’d that the remote would show volume level tv and satellite require much different settings Very pleased with the purchase

Except for this; when switching Inputs over to TV over-the air channels, the receiver won’t automatically switch back to tv speakers. I will admit, I’m still learning about this unit.

Good open box value

One thing I didn’t like was, when used Bluetooth from my phone and turned the volume down an back up again. It wasn’t as loud as before. I would have use the reviver remote to get the volume back up loud again.

For such good reviews, can't help but wondering if they aren't fake. From the lack of any pass through, to the miserable display. Then two weeks into using it, my 4K fire stick looks like standard definition. But when I plug the fire stick directly back into my LG OLED, it look like HD again. Then I look up and Best buy says it cannot be returned and it's still well under 30 days??? Sony's lack of any descent on screen display is totally underwhelming. I should've spent the extra and gone with Denon AVR-2700H. This is one relatively expensive mistake.

Posted .Hi there, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the picture quality. We'd love to troubleshoot the issue that you are experiencing and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please follow these steps to isolate and troubleshoot the issue.
-Depending on the TV or the video device, 4K content may not be displayed. Check the video capability and settings of your TV and video device.
-Be sure to use a High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet. When you use high bandwidth video formats such as 4K/60p 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4K/60p 4:2:0 10 bit, a Premium High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet, which can support bandwidth up to 18 Gbps, is required.
-If your TV has similar menu for high bandwidth video format, check the setting on the TV menu when you set “SIG. FMT.” to “ENHANCED” on this receiver (refer to the Operating Instructions). For details on the setting of the TV menu, refer to the operating instructions of the TV.
-Be sure to connect the receiver to an HDMI input jack of a TV or video device that supports 4K.
-You have to connect an HDMI cable to an HDMI jack that supports HDCP 2.2 when you use a playback device for 4K resolution video content, etc.

I have it setup as a 5.2 but plan on upgrading it to a 5.2.2. overall great setup. Would highly recommend this if you have the money to spend on it and don't want to buy a new one later down the line

The price wasn't great. Unfortunately this is our second unit because the first arrived damage with loose parts jiggling around inside and then took a month to get refunded to my credit card.
