The 5.2 works great so I assume this 7.2 does too.

Very Disappointing. Do not buy this receiver!!!!

Once they used to make Quality components. My Sony receiver was running 6 speakers - 7.2 channel surround system, with one powered subwoofer connected to it. After about 5 months it started to overheat and went to protect mode and shut off every minutes. I did some troubleshooting as recommended. Power reset the unit, unplug the unit and wait 30 minutes then plug the device back in and power on. After power reset, disconnect the cables between your TV and the home theater system or home audio system, and then reconnect them. No luck. Finally I contacted Sony Customer service, they just recommend the same troubleshooting procedures, after about 2 hours on the phone with Sony Customer service, I had to send the receiver back for repair..... Sony will NOT replace unit.

Good reciever

Its only used to bluetooth music to 8 ceiling speakers throughout our home. Can't complain. It seems to work great. Considering it wasn't the most expensive or even close, its perfect.

Cannot get rid of black "home" page on start up.

On my Samsung TV is a huge black box whenever it turns on. I can get it away after hitting the home button but its annoying! It seems that Sony has an issue with non brand TV's for some issues. Searching online found many people with the same issue. I had it installed by Geek Squad. No answer to why it does it. When the home black box is gone it works great. But there seems to be no work around for getting rid of it. YMMV but that's my experience.

Please make sure that all HDMI devices connected have HDMI Control enabled. If power is turned on from a device (such as a Blu-ray Disc player), then the soundbar or receiver and the TV turn on, and the TV switches to the proper input to view the menu or content. The soundbar or receiver is connected to the TV HDMI eARC/ARC port. This is the physical connection as an HDMI cable connects the devices.
The menu and content from HDMI devices that are connected to the soundbar or receiver then pass through to the TV. Since these connections are not physically connected to the TV, they are referred to as "virtual" connections.
If all HDMI devices are connected to the TV and only the HDMI ARC/eARC port connects to the soundbar or receiver, then the TV will both control and display all device menus and content.

Great receiver for overhead home speaker system

This receiver has 7 connections so I doubled up the two outside speakers to the 7th connection and it works great. Blue tooth allows me to connect my phone and I’m all set to have house wide music for entertaining.

I got approximately one year of use out of this before it went into protect mode. Went back to my old Yamaha while this one is getting repaired. What a disappointment because their TVs are second to none.
