After using a few low priced blu-ray players, I opted for the Sony X800 in preparation for going to a 4K TV. Used with a Sony projector and a Pioneer plasma, standard HD disks look better than any of the low-end players. Haven't tried any of the provided apps. I am looking forward to how the X800 looks on a 4K TV.

The Sony blue ray player offers a lot of features for little money. I've had this product for less than a week, but I'm happy with the overall quality of the product.

I don't watch a movie without this Sony = Streaming 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player. Definitely completes the 4K experience. Plus, it comes with several streaming options including Disney Plus. You can't go wrong with this product. Sony for the win!

We purchased a Samsung 4K player and after playing several different 4K movie titles we noticed that most of the videos where very dark in playing, but the blue ray DVD played just fine. So we returned it and purchased this Sony and all the titles that played to dark on the Samsung played just fine on this Sony.

I chose this DVD player to compliment our all Sony system ( TV and sound bar) It's easier then I excepted. Put a DVD it the player and it automatically goes on screen , when we're done and power off the player it goes back ( in our case Direct tv) - no switching inputs. Sound is very good.

Not only is this 4K Blu-Ray one of the top reviewed components, but it really shines when combined with a matching Sony 4K TV. It also has quite a few streaming services that are quite useful. I would recommend the combination with the TV. I also recommend taking advantage of streaming with LAN cable.

Product has exceeded my very high expectations. Picture quality is outstanding, both in 4K and upscaling of conventional Blu-ray. Remote operation is simple and intuitive. Excellent design from both functional and operational considerations. Based upon performance so far, I recommend highly without reservation.

This thing can play content from a media server, 4k bluray, and play dad audio. What else do you really need?

When comparing this to the LG and the Samsung 4K players that are in the same price range this is hands down the best bang for your buck. You get a better picture quality, faster load up time, better build quality as this thing is sturdy and heavy. As well as superior audio output from 4K discs all for $299.

Lighting hit our house and took our old Sony out. It was about 10 years old. Never had a problem and it always had the best picture. We replaced with this one. Well, the picture quality is awesome. What more can one say about the UBP-X800? It's the best 4K player you can buy! Super easy to set up (make sure you have an High Speed HDMI cable)! I've only had it a couple of weeks so can not attest to it's dependability but it's a Sony and i've had nothing but good luck w/their products.

bought this to replace a blue ray player from another brand. I went with this brand since I have a Sony TV as well. I am very happy with the sound and picture quality that come from this player. watching movies on this is so nice, and now the kids want to watch more movies. Great stuff from Sony!!

I have not used this device all that much at this point in time, but so far it appears to work as expected.

I love everything about this Player except that there are no controls on the front or top of the player. (Play, Pause, Ect.) Also there is no display at all on the front. So you have to use the remote for everything. Skipping songs on a CD for example you cannot easily tell what chapter you are in without getting the remote. Otherwise does everything it is supposed to do. Looks and Sounds Great.

Got a great recommendation from local Best Buy guy that I have worked with before and was not disappointed
