This unit took a major price drop but offers you so many features and a strong true 4k performance to boot.

...the big difference in this and the cheaper 4k players is the Atmos - and if you have a good stereo system, you are gonna want this - incredible sound - and of course the picture is great, the ability to play movie files off usb, and even upconverts blu ray video and mp3 audio to lossless sound!

My tech guy told me I had to ditch my old VCR & get a blu-ray for my 82" Samsung TV. So I went shopping. I couldn't believe the prices! I got a Sony and I couldn't be happier! Easy install, good resolution and sleek. Compatible with the most programs! $100 sale helped too!

I purchased the Sony UBP-X800 to go with my new Sony XBR-55X930D and I must say the picture quality is great especially when combined with the aforementioned television! The only thing I would say is a major drawback for this particular unit is price, the lack of OSD (on screen display), and apps. If you can live with the aforementioned drawbacks, then I would consider giving this a try.

I had a good BluRay player, but was frustrated because it wouldn't play several types of disks that are commonly used and it wasn't 3D compatible, which is something I may yet decide to try. This Sony UBP-X800 has handled all those issues. It is surprisingly user-friendly, too, which I deeply appreciate.

This player has awesome features.The startup is quick and there are no delays while going from app to app.

Sony makes a solid product and this is no exception. I can't wait to pair it with a new Sony Televisions.

My first Blu-ray player and certainly one of the best on the market. Handles 4K HDR discs and 3D...plus has all the built-in apps for watching movies and more on the internet. ZERO complaints thus far with playback quality or any of the features. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I just click on the green button on the remote and it goes to the right input to view any and all apps from Netflix, prime and a whole bunch more and you can add your own station apps to watch whatever you want but the 4k is just fabulous and the clearest picture I have ever seen.

Since i upgraded my TV to ultra 4K it was time to upgrade my blue ray player , went with the TV . Bought the best offered and am as pleased with it as I can be. It upgrades all CDs to ultra so what more could I ask, easy ti use and delivers great digital information to the TV..

I,ve had other blue ray players,but I always seem to come back to Sony the 1080 upgrade is a nice feature I enjoy,and the streaming is good too.In my opinion you can,t go wrong with a Sony DVD player.You know SONY invented BlueRay Technology and they still lead the way,

We have bought Sony DVD and Blu Ray players for years. We have always been highly satisfied with Sony.

Prior to purchase, it was a decision between this Sony and the Oppo. The Oppo is better reviewed and would likely offer more audio choices, but as I was only attaching this to my TV, I decided the Oppo wasn't worth the extra cost. The picture from the Sony is quite good; I am happy with the purchase.

After having the Samsung some it's launch I was happy to hear Sony was finally entering the 4K market with a true disc player. The player gives a better image quality than the other player. I love the ability to hit the Display button on the remote and see audio and video codecs and bit-rates. Not to mention this player supports pass through of Atmos and DTS:X to your received. Great machine overall.

Only had it for a few days so far but no issues. It plays what I want it to play and plays it well. :D
