It was a no-brainer, since I have been a diehard Sony man since my first tv, which was a 13" Sony Trinitron. Still works by the way! Meanwhile, I read reviews of the Samsung and Phillips 4k players that were already available, and they were dismal. After using the Sony 4k for a few weeks, the only thing I miss is the voice activated search option which I have on my Sony 75" tv, especially when cruising Youtube. Arrowing around trying to type in titles is slow and tedious using the player remote. Otherwise, the apps I have tried are great, with only a rare crash. Plays blu ray and dvd disks flawlessly, and with never before seen clarity. Sony gets an A+ from me.

The clarity of the picture and the ease of use make it even that much better.
