You can stream through this and play dvd, blue ray, and 4K movies! This is the one to get to be future ready, say if you want to eventually get a great sound system.

Really happy with it. If only it had an optical out it would have been better

This is a fantastic 4K blu ray and streaming player. While apps like Netflix run a little sluggish compared to the PS4 it does do HDR on apps which the PS4 Pro doesn't for some reason.

This player can do it all. The video and sound quality rival players that are 3 times the price. There are enough streaming apps to allow this to be the only device connected to a TV.

Picked up this 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player to replace a standard 1080p Blu-ray player and boy am I glad i did. The day before I had received the release of Blade Runner (Directors Cut) that came with a number of versions in different video formats.I had watched it on my old player that night and decided to get this new player to see if there really was a difference between the two. I was amazed at how much of a difference there was! The UHD version was the best of all but I was surprised at how the new player upscaled the the 1080p version to 4k. It was hard to tell the two apart! Excellent performance from another great Sony product.

Picked up the DVR in store, took it home, connected it to my new Sony 4K TV and it works great. No problems configuring it nor connecting it to the internet. The video is great.

We won't be buying standard Blu-rays anymore unless 4K isn't an option. Once the player was registered with Sony I received a code for the two movies. Got them both in about a week!

This one has everything you need for a great price. There is no better value out there. UHD, HDR, Atmos and DTS-X plus sturdy and solid quality along with great performance!

I've wanted to buy a bluray forever and never got to actually buying one. This one was recommended with our new TV and I loved that it was 4K and you can also play DVDs in it as well.

The best 4k DVD player to use with a 4k TV. Brilliant picture that is so clear I don't know how they will improve it.

Right out of the box, easy setup, connected flawlessly to my Wifi, and streams Netflix and Amazon without any hiccups or pixels like my last DVD/streamer. Discs are great too.

This player is ok. Doesn’t seem to work that well if it’s a dvd and the dvd us dirty or scratched. Plays blu-Ray and 4K good tho! I also don’t like that there is not a screen on it

Sony's ultra-affordable Ultra HD Blu-ray player has excellent video performance, and it also plays SACDs and DVD-Audio discs too. The only thing missing is Dolby Vision support. Overall, an amazing machine.

An amazing Ultra HD Blu Ray Player. It does everything as advertised. Only drawback is the menu is a little lackluster but it is fin as you don't spend much time in that area.

The first movie that I watched on this Blu Ray player was American Sniper. I was not disappointed! Picture clarity was outstanding. Fantastic features on this model as well.

It's a great to add to your Sony entertainment center but otherwise it's ok

A Best Buy specialist recommended the Sony UBP-X800 over the other brands in this price range and it was on sale for the Holiday season for $149.99. I am still learning more about this unit as I go as far as playing DVDs. I only have 1 4K movie right now which looks awesome and I have played some Blue Ray DVDs and this unit does a really good job of upscaling the content. I like using the X-800 for streaming Netflix, Amazon, Hulu or any streaming content instead of my Sony X850D smart TV as the X-800 has a better interface in my opinion. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for their fist 4K streaming player.
